-APPEARANCE-

As a result of multiple travels to exotic parts of the world, as part of his profession, Jin now possesses a slightly tanned complexion, forming the shell of his appearance. Naturally unruly, yet able to maintain some sort of neatness, Jin’s hair descends no further than his shoulders. The front of his hair, meanwhile, dangles casually across and against his face, mainly consisting of a sharp series of extended bangs that drape aimlessly over his eyelashes. Whilst his well-defined facial features convey the impression of a person slightly younger than Jin actually is, it’s his sharp, golden eyes that show otherwise. When looked upon long enough, one will easily discern a form of maturity and experience far beyond Jin’s adult years, defining a significant part of Jin’s character.

Normally covering the upper area of his lean, yet muscular physique is a slack, ebony-coloured T-shirt, starting just below the collarbone level and reaching a few inches below his waistline. Its colour matching that of the T-shirt, a pair of long, loose-fitting trousers held up by a leather belt are worn, covering the vast majority of a pair of grey and black trainers. Completing the main body of Jin’s attire is a dark-grey trench coat, often worn open out of personal preference. Jin isn’t limited to this particular attire, however, since an exposure to different climates and seasons results in the courier possessing a varied range of different outfits (usually adopting only the colours grey, blue, black, and on a few occasions white) available for him to wear. Accessorising his hands are a pair of customised ebony fingerless gloves, providing a combination of durability and comfort. A pendant made of a coarse black cord, meanwhile, hangs from his neck, exhibiting a platinum amulet, and fully completing Jin’s ensemble.

-PERSONALITY-

Toning down his near-sociopath habits from once past, Jin now projects a neutral countenance, commonly seen displaying an aura of one armed with an abundance of serenity and patience, which he possesses. Those who encounter him, for whatever reason, are generally spoken to in a polite, cordial manner, but unless they are considered to be a friend of some sort, Jin will nonetheless adopt a prudent, reserved nature towards them, never saying more than what he feels is necessary. Around those close to him, however, Jin’s attitude will loosen, allowing a more relaxed, easy-going demeanour to seep through. Such a characteristic leads Jin to being either the most loyal and trusted friend to have, or the worst enemy for anyone to deal with. True rage from the Kushina descendant is normally difficult for one to invoke, however, since Jin prides himself on never letting personal feelings override his rational thinking — although he can be annoyed under certain circumstances. An influence picked up during his travels with Astaroth, Jin is sometimes known to unleash a sharp, sarcastic wit whenever the opportunity arises, which, much to Natalie’s slight annoyance, often occurs at her expense. With a constant exposure to various different parts of the world and people, in addition with the events in his past, all being fuelled by a mutable nature, Jin not only wields a colourful perspective on life, but also is able to react accordingly to just about any situation he’s presented with.

-INTERESTS AND SKILLS-

*Music

Has an affinity towards rock music, followed by hip-hop -- typically its non-mainstream counterpart -- and then generally any form of music that’s good. Primarily located in his inside coat pocket, Jin is known to carry an Apple iPod at virtually all times, which aids in fuelling his musical tastes.

*Swordsmanship

A consequence of his past days, Jin possesses the ability to effectively utilise any sword he comes into contact with, using deadly precision and skill. In spite of this, however, Jin’s sole and preferred weapon is the kodachi, a short sword -- in-between the length of a dagger and a katana (normal-sized sword) -- that once belonged to his grandfather, hence the weapon’s significance to him.
Skill Grade- A

*Alcohol

With a large alcohol limit before he becomes intoxicated, Jin holds an affinity towards a range of alcoholic spirits, Sake being the most preferred. Although Jin does drink a lot, he is always careful to never get himself drunk since the thought of losing his sensible, rational state of mind -- even if momentarily -- isn’t something he’s willing to challenge.
Skill Grade- A-

* Misc. Skills- Teleportation (A+); Motorcycle (A); Drawing (B)

-FIGHTING STYLE-

Jin’s stance consists of the warrior adopting a near-relaxed poise as his body shifts to the side slightly, bringing his right forearm upwards, holding a loose fist in front of his chest. His left arm, meanwhile, falls downwards, bent at the elbow, ending with a slightly curled palm just below his waistline. With his legs spaced a few feet apart, Jin’s focuses the majority of his weight on his rear leg. Owing no allegiance to any particular fighting art -- a deliberate intent on Jin’s part -- the Kushina descendant is subsequently granted a slight edge before a battle begins due to his opponents’ inability to gauge his fighting style and strategise accordingly. In the case of Natalie, however, the above won’t be the case as she’s familiar enough with her lover’s fighting style. While possessing no overall fighting strategy, it’s common for Jin to embrace a defensive stature than an offensive one. It’s in this form that Jin can silently observe enough of his attacker’s fighting style and strategy to then employ to his advantage, if possible.

-BACKGROUND STORY-

The last known descendant of his clan lineage, the path of Jin Kushina has indeed been one of trial and tribulation. First established with the loss of his grandfather and mother, respectively, the wanderings of a seven year old left truly alone in the world would bring him into the clutches of the Dark God, Naar, exposing the young Kushina to a plane of existence filled with different worlds and beings, for the purpose of adding him to his force, soon moulding Jin over the years towards a way of life shaped by pain, blood, destruction and willpower. With the adoption of such principles and ordinances within his arsenal, it was only a matter of time until Jin came to wield a reputation just as dark as the colour of the flames that defined his clan’s namesake.

Although he wasn’t a complete stranger to the world where he was born -- he’d secretly visited it on a few occasions throughout the years -- Jin’s return to Earth brought him to Fighters’ Isle, his latest assignment dealing with the presence of an assembly of those deemed the ‘Nine Essences’ that had caught Naar’s attention. Fate would have different intentions for the Kushina, though; intersecting his with Natalie’s own with the result revealing a connection between the pair that unnerved yet intrigued him at the same time. It then came as an unwanted blow with Natalie’s death, the loss crushing his intent on exploring deeper into what was slowly exceeding an intrigue and substituting it with a resolve that saw him, in the end, fighting against and overcoming the same dark forces responsible for his upbringing and experiences.

Now drawn into residing in the same world he’d held a bleak, negative view of during his childhood days, Jin soon noted how his path had come full circle. With that thought in mind, he would carve out a new beginning for himself. He began by unlearning many of his techniques taught to him by Naar’s along with his other former superiors, erecting new ones in their place, all as a means of signifying his personal new path. However, the willingness to preserve his family lineage would not be lost on him, thus a few of them remained, yet further adapted than they had been prior. The job had come almost accidentally, much to his surprise. What far exceeded that, however, was Natalie’s return, with her own reasons for doing so, rekindling a surge of thoughts and feelings in Jin that he would’ve otherwise been content with letting go.

Plenty of time has passed since then, and along with it has come an era of relative peace for Jin, within himself as well as in life, the latter being to a degree. The winds of change would stir once again, through the revelation of a new fighting tournament, entitled the Champion of Fists, invoking his fighting spirit into having him participate. How long the winds will continue to blow as well as the surprises they’ll unearth in their wake, though, will be another story…

-THROWS-

NAME - Seoi Nage: Kai [Over-the-Shoulder Throw: Modified]
POWER - 2.0
DESCRIPTION - Jin will reach out and, if successful, will grab the opponent and throw them over in a standard shoulder toss. However, a few milliseconds before the stage where the opponent would be released and thrown, Jin will ensure that they gain a far quicker trip to the ground with a palm strike to their midsection. The final strike will be charged with a significant amount of ki that will, upon contact, burst into a strong surge of dark flames, slamming the opponent severely onto the ground for additional damage. Once the throw is complete, Jin will leap back by a few feet in order to create some space between himself and the opponent, to avoid any sudden, unexpected counter-attacks.

NAME - Sarashi Kubi [Exposed Neck]
POWER - 2.0
DESCRIPTION - Within close range, Jin will slam a crushing fist into the opponent's abdomen, forcing their body to involuntarily curl forward, which, despite the strike being strong, merely assists the final, more powerful stage of the technique. As the opponent staggers back slightly from the force of Jin's strike, the Kushina warrior will, with amazing agility and haste, secure a vice-like grip onto his adversary's neck as he uses the momentum to raise them above the ground. Before the opponent has time to react accordingly, Jin will voice the phrase, "Abayo..." (So long...) just before his palm erupts into a potent surge of dark flames, the force of Jin's attack powerful enough to release his grip on the opponent and allowing them to drop to the ground.

NAME - Gourin [Strong Fall]
POWER - 2.0
DESCRIPTION - An aerial throw. Upon grabbing the opponent, Jin will immediately drive himself, and his opponent, vertically towards the ground, headfirst. An instant before impact, Jin will release the opponent, falling onto his shoulders soon after, which absorbs the impact as he goes into a short, forward roll in order to reduce the damage inflicted on himself. His opponent, however, will have no such option, as they'll crash unceremoniously onto the ground. Upon completing the roll, Jin will turn around to face his fallen adversary as he goes back into his stance.

-SPECIAL MOVES-

NAME – Gyounen [Concentration]
POWER – 0.0
DESCRIPTION – With his eyes closed, Jin makes a circular motion with his hands and cups them together in front of him, which causes a small ball of energy to shimmer into existence for a few seconds before disappearing. What this technique does is gather and seals a specific amount of energy within Jin, which he can then draw on to increase the properties of the “Kusho”, the “Hageshii Ken” and “Hageshii Hinote” techniques in battle. Kushina can seal up to three ‘pockets’ of energy in total, which he can draw on at any point he desires.
QUOTE - None

NAME – Kusho [Empty Palm]
POWER – 3.0 (4.0 with Gyounen)
DESCRIPTION – A close range attack, Jin leans forward slightly as he extends one arm out to perform a blurred palm strike, with his fingers pointed towards the ground and pushing a struck opponent back upon contact. The technique’s strength lies in its speed as opposed to power, allowing Jin to recover quickly from the attack before the opponent does, opening them up to any additional attacks. The technique works by Jin injecting his chi into his opponent at the last second, stunning them considerably whilst giving the outside appearance of a simple palm strike, hence the name. In another attribute to its property is that it can be directly chained into the “Hageshii Ken” technique.

When enhanced, Jin is able to generate a short burst of energy from his palm, giving the Kusho some extended range as well as knocking down the opponent upon impact. If timed correctly, it can also negate projectiles with a power level of 4 or less. As a drawback, however, the technique’s speed is reduced, as well as its chaining property.
QUOTE – “Kusho!”

NAME – Hageshii Ken [Violent Fist]
POWER – 2.0 (2.5 with the Gyounen)
DESCRIPTION – A fairly simple technique, due to the fact its key role is to set up a technique known as the “Hageshii Hinote”. Jin slides forward slightly with one arm low, having his forearm parallel to the ground as he gathers energy into his fist. Seconds later, Kushina then brings his arm up, rising up into a standing uppercut, his fist swathed in black flame. Guaranteed to launch the opponent a few feet off-ground if it connects, the Hageshii Ken can also be used as an anti-air, but only with strict timing. Although the technique can be chained from the Kusho, it can also be used independently, without the Kusho needing to be performed beforehand.

Upon enhancement, Jin adds a vertical comet-like trail of dark flames to the Hageshii Ken for slightly increased horizontal range. At the apex of the uppercut Jin will generate an arc movement with his fist, leaving behind a flame wake for increased anti-air properties. It can still be chained into the Hageshii Hinote as well.
QUOTE – “Hageshii Ken!”

NAME – Hageshii Hinote [Violent Flames]
POWER – 3.0 (4.0 with the Gyounen)
DESCRIPTION – Immediately after the Hageshii Ken is executed, Jin will gather power into his other fist before punching upwards at a varied diagonal angle at the airborne opponent. Doing so releases a significant burst of black flame, the manifestation of Jin’s clan abilities, which hurls the helpless opponent through the air several feet before crashing into the ground. Although it can be performed independently as an anti-air attack in its own right, Jin prefers to use it only after he makes a successful hit with the Hageshii Ken. Consequently, should the Hageshii Ken be blocked or avoided in some fashion, Jin will not perform this technique.

With the Gyounen the size and power of the flame is increased, enhancing its anti-air properties significantly. Only under this circumstance will Jin decide to use the Hageshii Hinote without setting it up with the Hageshii Ken beforehand. If chained from a Gyounen-enhanced Hageshii Ken, however, this version of the Hageshii Hinote makes for an overall deadly two-strike combination in Jin’s arsenal.
QUOTE – “Hageshi Hinote!”

NAME - Kuutotsu Kyaku [Air-Piercing Kick]
POWER - 3.0
DESCRIPTION – From the air, Jin drives himself diagonally downward towards his opponent, a now-outstretched leg shimmering with a faint dark aura. Upon connection, a short burst of dark energy will erupt from and around the point of impact, separating the distance between Jin and his opponent as well as causing damage. As the force of the energy detonation drives Jin diagonally backwards slightly, a quick forward somersault brings the warrior directly down to the ground, touching it in a graceful crouch. Due to the technique's overhead properties, the Kuutotsu Kyaku can only be blocked high, whereby Jin responds by using the momentum of the impact to execute a swift, backward somersault before landing onto the ground gracefully, leaving him momentarily vulnerable.
QUOTE – “Kuutotsu Kyaku!”

NAME - Sakkyaku Geki [Deadly Leg Assault]
POWER - 5.0
DESCRIPTION - The technique begins with a slight forward lunge, followed immediately by a backward somersault. As Jin lands on his palms, using them to continue the momentum and complete his somersault, his legs are brought upward in a crescent-like motion, guaranteed to strike his opponent under the jaw if successful. Staggering the opponent backwards somewhat, Jin then proceeds to unleash a short, rapid chain of kicks (before the opponent has time to recover fully) across the upper body and midsection, with his leg moving fast enough to become a visible blur. A resounding lunge kick to the gut will bring this technique to a strong close, hurling the opponent towards the ground. Successful execution of the entire technique will be dependent on the first strike, whereby, if Jin misses, or it's blocked, the Sakkyaku Geki will not go into full motion, causing the warrior to return back into his stance.
QUOTE - None

NAME - Sankaku Tobi [Triangle Leap]
POWER - 0.0
DESCRIPTION - As its name implies, execution of this entire manoeuvre will result with Jin's trajectory taking on the form of a triangle. Beginning with a swift, backward somersault, Jin will plant his body -- namely, his boots -- against any standing object that is available to him, before he thrusts himself off and away from the said object, travelling in an upward-diagonal direction and completing the move. Since executing the Sankaku Tobi places him airborne in consequence, he gains the option of either descending back to the ground in a standard motion, or carrying out any aerial attacks or manoeuvres available to him.
QUOTE - None

-SUPER ARTS-

NAME - Kami Sakkyaku [Divine Deadly Leg]
POWER - 7.0
DESCRIPTION - Drawing up one leg slowly and dramatically, Jin causes it to glow with dark fire briefly before propelling himself forward at a designated distance towards his opponent. If connection is successful, then the warrior will unload an impressive series of leg strikes, directing them mainly around his opponent’s midsection and upper areas. The technique will eventually draw to a close, in the form of a flame-empowered lunge kick to the gut, and as Jin brings his leg back down in an equally dramatic fashion the opponent is meanwhile sent towards the ground, skidding for a tiny distance before coming to a stop. Should the first strike of the Kami Sakkyaku be avoided or blocked then Jin will refrain from continuing the rest of the technique, moving backwards slightly and returning back into his stance.
QUOTE - “Kami Sakkyaku!”

NAME - Kushina Ougi: Hinote no Mai [Profound Art of Kushina: Dance of Flames]
POWER - 8.0
DESCRIPTION - This technique dates back to ancient times, within Jin’s lineage. With his head bowed slightly and his eyes closed, Jin will raise one arm upward, holding a knife-edged palm directly in front of him, a dark hue of his fighting spirit surrounding the outline of his form soon after. After a few moments, Jin's eyes will snap open, followed by the warrior muttering the phrase, “Koko madeda" (It ends here) with a flat tone of voice as he rushes into a smooth, breathtaking dash towards his opponent. As Jin nears his opponent, his body will begin to fade slightly, to which it then splits horizontally into five images of himself, the real Jin managing to strike the opponent before the realisation of the Kushina warrior's former action reaches their mind. As soon as the first strike connects, multiple images of Jin will immediately begin to encircle the opponent, in different directions, all five of them simultaneously delivering a singular strike to a critical pressure point in rapid succession. Since this effectively immobilises the target, it grants the five warriors enough time to also place a considerable amount of passive energy charges onto various parts of the upper body and midsection. As soon as their jobs are complete, taking no more than five seconds, all five warriors will disappear before the real Jin reappears a second later in front of his still immobile opponent, his back to them and his head bowed. With the technique reaching completion, Jin will now utter the phrase, "Moero..." (Burn...), loud enough to be heard by his opponent, and it's at this point that the passive energy placed on them explodes into five powerful, fiery bursts, the final blast launching them off their feet.

-FIRST ROUND ANIMATION-

Standing completely erect, his arms hung at his sides with unclenched fists, Jin gazes in the general direction of his opponent with a brief, contemplative expression etching itself onto his features. As he does so, a faint, near-visible vortex of energy will rush around him, its presence truly noticed by the tiny rubble and nearby debris that it picks up, as well as his clothes and hair, which become swept up in the updraft. As the manifestation of his spiritual energy subsides, and gravity regains control, Jin will shift into his fighting stance, preceded by him proclaiming the words, “Sa hajime mashoka” (So, let us begin).

Natalie - Clasping his fingers around his wrist with one hand, Jin will squeeze it gently before he drops and shakes it for a few seconds, repeating the procedure with his other hand whilst appearing to be oblivious to Natalie’s exasperated expression. After a while he’ll provide a small grin as he smoothly shifts into his stance.

Females - Observing their pre-fight mannerisms and/or comments, Jin retaliates in kind with a general smile, unconsciously sweeping one hand through his extended bangs. Once this is performed, he settles into his stance.

-VICTORY ANIMATIONS-

- Dropping his stance, Jin will casually glance over at his prone opponent, fidgeting with his fingerless gloves in a near-oblivious manner. After a few moments, Jin’s arms will drop, followed by the warrior leaving the battlefield.

- Whilst a few sparks of energy appear seemingly randomly around Jin he’ll eventually snap his fingers, causing those same sparks to burst into a huge, violent surge of ebony flames, completely engulfing the warrior as the manifestation of Jin’s spiritual energy burns at the atmosphere furiously. Seconds later the flames will subside and disappear, just in time to reveal the Kushina warrior as he teleports away along with it.

- Jin places a hand under his chin, a contemplative expression growing onto his face before he says, “Kentou chigai ka...” (Different from what I expected...)

Natalie - Jin walks over to her, extending a hand as well as a smile.

-VICTORY QUOTES-

- “I know skill, and it’s telling me it don’t know you.”
- “A miscalculation on your part, I believe.”
- "Learn to speak with your fists, not your tongue.”
- “I could do with a drink right now...”

- “Well, I *did* try to take it easy on you...” (against Natalie)

-TAUNT-

Jin dusts himself off a bit. Under certain circumstances, he may additionally say, “Ii ude da” (Good skills).
