A year or so ago
Shotoken Dojo, Japan
“What?!” I will not agree to this!!” Ryu shot upright and exclaimed. Chun Li pulled him back down to the tatami. For once she was out of her battle cheongsam and wearing a blue gi, her hair is still bunned up in her usual style.
“It’s the only way.” Iwa shrugged, the so-called adopted daughter of Ryu as well as disciple of Chun Li was with them as well. Wearing a dark grey gi, her hand held the double-headed dragon sword that never seems to leave her.
“Its too dangerous, you could get killed!” Ryu protested once, currently he’s the one responsible for training the young woman, a job that he rotates with the woman he allegedly loves. He had thought that she would be the sensible one to talk their disciple out of this, but apparently they are trying to cajole him into agreeing. He had a nagging feeling that this plan will go horribly wrong.
“True, true. But 1/3 of me belongs to him.”
The younger woman said, shaking her left arm.
“It will be a waste of investment to kill
me.” She laughed
“You’re aware of the rumors that Bison
is showing much interest in Egypt.”
“I heard.” Ryu frowned. “I doubt he’s
sending his men there for a vacation to see the pyramids and take part
in camel races.”
“They hold an interest in a newly discovered
tomb of a pharaoh, rumored to be the most powerful one to ever walk the
earth.”
“And he ain’t there to find his mummy.”
Iwa added.
“Kumori though, sent word to me that during
the few times that she was near the excavation, she caught scent of a majorly
strong bad qi mojo going on in there.”
“What’s she doing there?” Ryu asked, worried
that another might have gotten into trouble.
“She was studying some other magic while
she was there. The girl got out when I told her to.” Chun i placed her
hand on Ryu’s shoulder to assured him that all is well.
“No doubt that what’s Bison is interested
in.” Ryu had to agree.
A chittering noise made the trio look up to the window, a rust brown squirrel was frantically chittering away and pointing out the window. It was practically paranoid about something from the forest.
“They’re coming. Chun Li guessed as much.
“You better take him and hide. Subdue
him with your love and silence him with your kisses if need-“
TWAP!!!
“- OOOoowww.”
Ryu clouted Iwa on the upside of her head.
“What? Everybody knows that your relationship
is an open secret! The other day I saw you two down –”
“TWAAAAPPPPP!!!!!” again Ryu clouted Iwa
on the head. Chun Li removed Ryu’s looming fist. Her eyes soften as her
gaze met his.
“They’ll get suspicious if they find an
unconscious Iwa waiting for them to pick up.” Chun Li pulled Ryu out of
the way with her.
Somewhere outside not that far away. A
VTOL in a forest clearing some distance away
Crackle….BZZZZZZZZZZZZAATTTTTZZZZZZ……
“Sir! We have secured the perimeter of
the premise. Alpha team moving in now. Visual confirmation ready.” The
communication radio sounded.
Bwwwink!
A monitor blinked to life, sending in
pictures from one of the various cameras attached to the raiding team.
The dictator in red clicks a few buttons to switch the camera view to to
that of another solider in the front. With a joystick he angled the camera
to get a better view.
It has been quite some time since he hunted for Ryu, from what little information coming in from Egypt he would need someone of Ryu’s caliber to make it in and out the pyramid alive. His supply of raiders into that pyramid is fast dwindling his supply of low to mid level qi warriors. Whatever that’s in there is killing them off based on their qi alone. He can’t spare his high-level qi warriors when he doubt their skills for such a mission.
There are at least 2 people close to Ryu
who can and will be able to make such a raid mostly unscathed. Capturing
them is the hard part since he had no idea where they are now. They move
around too much for him to track down.
BZZZZZZZAAAZZZZTTTZZZZZ
“Sir! Premise secured! No sign of subject
Ryu!”
BBBBZZZZZ RATATATAATATTAAT!!!!!ZZZZZZ
Guns were blazing as the Alpha team came
under attack, Bison had expected this. But who would he find in the dojo?
BZZZTTTZZZZ……RATTATATATATATA… SHIHHIINKKKK!!!
PING! PING!! PING!!!!
Metal deflected bullets. He had no doubts
that she would be here.
BBZZZZ…TTZZZZA
“We’re under attack!!! Repeat we’re under
attack. Alpha team requesting for back up! Subject is not Ryu! Sending
visual confirmation of hostile!!”
Another picture blink to life. A sideways feed from the camera of a down solider, the only one whose camera has escape damage.
The screen showed a young woman in a grey
gi, sword in hand, fending off a few of the soldiers, naturally she’s too
fast for them. He would not expect anything less from her. A thought came
to him.
Yes the paranoid squirrel has extremely
strong survival instincts. Yes, he would have to refine her skills. Yes
she would be suitable for the pyramid raid. Yes capturing her would lure
Ryu and other worthy warriors to him. Yes, her old allies are a strong
bunch.
A single gesture was all he needed to teleport himself into the dojo. A ring of unconscious soldiers surrounded her when he appeared, she had yet to break so much as a sweat.
She sensed him and turned, he unleashed a Psycho Shot at her and she flipped out of the way. Easily enough he teleported behind her. Reaching out for her neck, she answered with a roundhouse kick and duck to make a sweep for his legs. Easily enough he hovered out of the way.
“Tensho Kyaku!!” she yelled, propelling herself towards him, he teleported out of her way.
And when she landed, he appeared, looming before her a figure of red. A huge nasty grin grew upon his face.
“Join me, child.” A snap of his fingers triggered the Pyscho Power within her to release the pre-programming. Purple wispy qi ignited from her hands, spreading to envelop her. She screamed in the pain sinking to her knees. Yes, it could drive her insane. Yes it could even kill her. And yes this is the only way to bring out the programming.
Another snap of his fingers and the blue qi dies off, the young woman rose to her feet, eyeing him coldly.
“Come child.” He said, with a sweep of
his cape he headed out side while
“Yes Master.” She said, picking up her
fallen sword she followed behind while Bravo team swept in to make another
sweep of the dojo and retrieved their fallen comrades.
After awhile the soldiers reported back
to the waiting VTOL
“Sir! No sign of subject Ryu or any other
signs of life sir!”
He dismissed the captain and turn to the
young woman by his side.
“Where is he?” he asked
“He went awandering 2 days ago. Who knows
when he deigns to return. I was suppose to go to Hong Kong if that’s what
you want to know.” She answered, there was staring match going on.
He decided not to do anything with regards to her attitude. His little investment had improved much since the last time they meet. They’re relationship is an odd one, he is only interested in her mind and her Essence. Training her physically with the skills she needs would allow him to see her full potential. Unlike his Dolls, this one must not be made into a puppet. He needed her to be untarnished by trauma in order for her instincts to work. He will train her personally.
“Come.”
With a sweep of his cape he headed into
the VTOL, Iwa followed while a rust brown squirrel scurried on board as
well.
A bit more later after the VTOL left
All is quiet once more, the door to the cupboard slid open, Chun Li’s had one arm around Ryu. The legendary warrior’s fists were clenched and shaking with anger. Chun Li poked her head out of the cupboard and confirmed they were in the clear. Reluctantly she released Ryu and made her way out of the cramped cupboard.
They started packing, they will be heading
to Hong Kong to monitor this. There’s nothing much they can do for Iwa,
she’s on her own now. Offering a silent prayer, the couple left the premise
with caution.
