OVERVIEW:
Memphis Long is one of the better characters, meaning that his moves and strengths have some priority over other characters. Exceptionally quick, Memphis has good defense and power to go along with his speed. Most characters would have to give up either defense or strength to be well-rounded, but Memphis is a high-priority type character along the lines of Ken Masters.
Memphis best quality is that he has quickness, good defense and priority, making it hard for a character that lacks slightly in one of those categories to defeat Memphis. However, his achilles heel is that Memphis is incredibly arrogant and cocky, meaning that in battle he will overestimate an opponent due to the fact that on paper he's better than him\her.
----------------------------
APPEARANCE\OUTFIT:
----------------------------
HEIGHT: 6'1
- At 6'1, Memphis is about average in height.
WEIGHT: 176
- Weighing closer now to 180 pounds, Memphis has gained weight, up from his standard 169. Nonetheless, his body is still muscular and looking even better due to him having more meat on his bones. (lol)
HEAD
- The standard Bishounen head and face (sharp jaw, exotic eyes). Memphis has a very different look than the average guy: His eyes can change color regarding his diposition, and for some unknown reason, wears an application of balm that resembles lipstick on his upper lip that darkens it to further give Memphis the exotic look. His hair, formerly swept back, is now in odangos (and yes, they resemble Sailor Moon's, although not nearly half as long, lol). In his ears are a couple of platinum earrings: In both his left and right ears, Memphis wears dangling cross earrings with a diamond fixed in the middle of the cross. Around his neck is a 20-inch platinum chain with his initials encrusted in diamonds.
Note: When Memphis Long is in "X-Ism", his hair is swept back in his original style. When in "V-Ism", his hair is braided into cornrows. Memphis wears odangos only while in "A-Ism".
TORSO & LEGS
- Memphis has a new outfit. Recently he brought an outfit that he had seen in one of the latest rap videos. His new outfit consists of this: An oversized leather jacket with matching leather pants. Both the jacket and pants have Memphis Long's initials in a line down the arms and on the sides of the jacket, and down the sides of the pants. Underneath his jacket, Memphis wears an acrylic vest with no sleeves. Memphis prefers to leave the jacket open, as to show off his platinum chain. There are six variations to his outfit, similar to Street Fighter Alpha 3. The main colors are the 1st and 2nd A-Ism colors. The colors for the new outfit go as follows:
A-Ism 1: Smoke Grey Outfit\Black Initials
with Black Vest.
A-Ism 2: Black Outfit\Grey Initials with
Grey Vest.
X-Ism 1: Carolina Blue Outfit\Navy Blue
Initials with Navy Blue Vest.
X-Ism 2: Brown Outfit\Tan Initials with
Tan Vest.
V-Ism 1: Brick Red Outfit\White Initials
with White Vest.
V-Ism 2: Yellow Outfit\Forest Green Initials
with Forest Green Vest.
WRISTS\HANDS\FINGERS
- On Memphis Long's left wrist is a platinum bracelet. On his right wrist is a custom-made platinum presidential Rolex. Memphis also wears three platinum diamond rings each on both his left and right hand, one for his index, middle and ring fingers. Usually he opts to keep them on in battle: Sometimes Memphis'll cheat the opponent by flashing his jewelry in the sun to get the glint into their eyes. =P
FEET
- Memphis dropped his Timbaland boots and recently brought the latest Air Jordans, the Retro XI's. He has them in six variable colors to go with his new outfit. The Jordans go such as this.
1. Smoke Grey Outfit = Grey\Grey Retro
Jordan XI's.
2. Black Outfit = Black\Black Retro Jordan
XI's.
3. Carolina Blue Outfit = White\Carolina
Blue Retro Jordan XI's.
4. Brown Outfit = White\White Retro Jordan
XI's.
5. Brick Red Outfit = White\Red Retro
Jordan XI's.
6. Yellow Outfit = White\Black Retro Jordan
XI's

FIGHTING STANCE:
------------------------
- Memphis Long has a hybrid fighting stance that involves a lot of movement to throw off his opponent's anticipation. Standing sideways, he crosses his arms at chest level, keeping his fingers hooked claw-like, similar to how Akuma holds his fingers in Alpha. One of his arms are always engulfed in a silver glow. His legs are set only a tad wider than his shoulders, giving Memphis a stance similar to Fei-Long's. He bounces on his feet back and forth in the opponent's direction, similar to Ken (notice a trend here?). His facial expression is one of smugness.
- Walking forward, Memphis leans slightly in the direction of the opponent with his arms behind him with a smirk on his face and his fist glowing even brighter.
- Walking backward, Memphis stays in his fighting stance, although his facial expression becomes that of amusement (or slight nervousness, as one of his eyebrows raise). His glowing fist dims ever-so-slightly.
- Blocking, Memphis leans forward with his shoulder and keeps one arm at chest level and the other guarding his face. While not exactly the best blocking form, it does well for Memphis, seeing that his silver chi helps to deflect an oncoming attack as well.
------------------
PERSONALITY:
------------------
LADIES MAN:
- Memphis Long has a way with the ladies. Seriously. Most women are easily attracted to him: He's charming, funny, and has a lot of money to boot. (lol) Only another Memphis prides himself on, although one particular woman in BF has consistantly given him the brush-off...
VAIN:
- Memphis Long prides himself on his body, and if a mirror is present, he will admire himself for quite some time. However, he is not as into his looks as Vega would be, for example. But Memphis will definitely let a person (and himself) know that he's handsome.
SNOB:
- If Memphis doesn't consider to you to be "on his level", be it with fighting skills or monetary status, he will give you the brush-off. This usually refers to other assassins and people of his status.
BLUNT\HELLRAISER:
- Memphis Long isn't a man who'll mince words. He will say what is on his mind if he percieves something differently than others or if he doesn't like something inparticular. Another thing that Memphis likes to do is blow up someone's spot, meaning that if he knows someone is lying, he'll go out of his way to tell the truth to the person being lied to. In other words, Memphis likes to raise hell.
SHINY THINGS:
- Memphis loves platinum jewelry. That's why he has an extensive collection. Although in public he wears only a bracelet, watch, chain and earrings, at home he has much more than that. He has two other chains and pairs of earrings, and three other bracelets. All the rings he has are on his fingers already. (lol)
PLAYS TO WIN:
- Being extremely competitive, Memphis hates to lose to anybody in anything. He won't cheat to win, granted, but Memphis is one to hold a grudge on someone who's beaten him in attaining something, be it a limited-edition sports car, or the affections of a particular BF character...
NICE GUY?:
- Memphis isn't always brash and reckless. At home, he's basically average. Memphis is generous toward his inner circle of friends and acquaintances. It's only when he's outside his world that Memphis is the man all BF characters know and love\hate. Sort of like a Jekyll-Hyde type thing, perhaps...
----------
SKILLS:
----------
Eyes:
- Memphis can change his eye color at will. Sometimes, depending on his disposition, they'll go into a default color that he can't change unless his current disposition does as well. Also, Memphis'll change his eye color to make himself more attractive to a lady. Or he can use them to lie to a person. Underneath the text is a small list of eye colors and what they mean regarding his disposition.
Brown Pupils = Normal Memphis or tired
Memphis.
Blue Pupils = Suave Memphis.
Silver Pupils = Angry Memphis.
Red Pupils = REALLY angry Memphis.
Heather Pupils = Cool Memphis.
Purple Pupils = Lying Memphis.
Singing Ability:
- Memphis was always able to sing, but has kept it a secret. But one often can hear him singing in the shower if the person plans on eavesdropping. (lol)
Voice Change:
- Memphis has two voices. Seriously. If I could give you an idea of who he sounds like, I would, but I can't really explain it. Basically he sounds like his maker, I guess. (lol)

MOVE LIST:
--------------
- Standard Moves
LP Standing: A quick jab aimed at the opponent's jaw.
HP Standing: A hooked swipe to the opponent's jaw. Stronger than the LP attack, but comes with a slight delay. Staggers the opponent if Memphis connects with the attack.
LK Standing: A light kick that looks as if Memphis is trying to step on the opponent's foot. While odd-looking, it's very easy to cross the move into a special.
HK Standing: Simple step-in kick with very good priority. Can knock opponents out of the air coming down from a jump.
LP Crouching: Straight jab slightly upwards into the opponent's abdomen.
HP Crouching: Memphis comes out of his crouch with a standing uppercut that can knock an airborne opponent coming down from a jump back into the air.
LK Crouching: Tap-out kick that can easily be linked to any strong attack Memphis has or a special move.
HK Crouching: Typical roundhouse sweep.
LP Aerial: Open-handed palm strike aimed downwards.
HP Aerial: Harder version of the LP Aerial attack, this time Memphis has his hand in a fist.
LK Aerial: Straight kick with hints of Guy's Bushinryuu in it.
HK Aerial: Harder version of the LK Aerial
attack.

1. Memphis gives his opponent a come-here gesture and says one of the following: "Kakugo wadeki teruka...?" ("Are you ready to die...?"), "Itaku shini kara..." ("I won't hurt you but so much..."), "Kowai no...?" ("Are you scared...?"), or simply, "Ikuzo..." ("Let's go...").
----------------------------
MOVE DESCRIPTIONS:
----------------------------
- Throws
1. Nage (Throw): Typical over-the-shoulder throw. Aerial version has Memphis perform a mid-air throw similar to Ryu.
2. Kuuchuu Nage (Aerial Throw): Memphis
rolls to the ground with the opponent and throws them over his leg (similar
to Ken).
- EX Standard Moves
1. Kudaki Ken (Smashing Fist): Simple two-handed swinging punch. The attack has good priority: Memphis can use the attack to knock an opponent out of the air coming down from a jump.
2. Gou Gekirou (Powerful Reverse Cascade): Memphis performs a standing backflip that not only hits the opponent twice, but places him several feet away from his opponent as well.
3. Ryuu Dageki (Dragon Strike): Memphis slides forward close the opponent and thrusts out his elbow, which can hit the opponent twice if close enough.
4. Ushiro Mawashi Geri (Backward Spinning Kick): Memphis does a turnaround roundhouse that starts up slow but has decent priority. Looks the same as Ken's Ushiro Mawashi Geri.
5. Memphis Yoke (Memphis Evade): Memphis teleports backward slightly to avoid his opponent. However, this move isn't as effective as his Zenten\Kouten Senkuu.
6. Zenten\Kouten Senkuu (Forward\Backward
Air Flash): Memphis performs a teleport similar to Akuma but not in the
same form. The startup for this move is similar; Memphis can be knocked
out of the move in the beginnings of it.
- Special Moves
1. Kizanken (Devil Slash Fist): Memphis' standard prejectile is thrown similar to the way Guile throws his Sonic Boom, meaning it's finished by crossing the arms. Three variable speeds. Easily linked into another move. Can be super-canceled into the Chouzetsu Kizanken SC. Cannot be air-guarded if the opponent is attacking in the air, and will knock opponent to the floor if the attack connects in the air. Staggers opponent if hit with the move on the ground. Three variable speeds.
2. Jashoueikyaku (Wicked Rising Shadow Kick): Formerly known as the Yousou Kyaku, Memphis performs his version of Chun-Li's Tenshoukyaku, but much quicker. All hits except the initial hit can be air-guarded, due to the first kick making the rest follow automatically. Worth three to five hits if the move connects.
3. Kaijinken (Revolving Blade Fist): Formerly known as the Shoujinken, Memphis performs a multiple-hit special move version of the Shinryuken as his fist trails swirling silver energy. Although unblockable in the air, the opponent has to be jumping over Memphis or close to him on the ground for all the hits to connect.
4. Gyaku Mujin Geri (Reverse Infinity Kick): Memphis' take on Charlie's Somersault Kick with a little bit of Remy's Rising Rage Flash mixed in. Can be linked into any super combo if the opponent aerial recovers. Cannot be blocked in the air except at the very beginning and end of the move or if the opponent isn't trying to counter the attack. Worth up to three hits if the move properly connects.
5. Hayagake Uke (Running Catch): Memphis
dropped the Shouryuu Jinkyaku for this move. He runs toward the opponent
in a teleport grab, punches them several times, then blasts them backwards
with a Kizanken. While this move is his strongest, it's most effective
when he's a body's length away or closer to the opponent.
- SUPER COMBOS
Hissatsu Waza no Ankoku (Deadly Technique of Darkness): A new version of the Hissatsu Waza no Metsu, Memphis Long's old move. Memphis starts off with a grapple similar to the way Guy starts off his Bushin Musourenge, but with a twist. Memphis disappears after the initial hit, and the opponent goes through various sequences of hits until finally, a silver blast of energy engulfs Memphis' adversary. This move is a max level combo only, meaning that when Memphis is charged up to his maximum potential, only then can perform this move. Often it's best used as a counter attack to an opponent's super combo that requires them to be near or next to Memphis. If he connects with this attack, the opponent can kiss 60% of his\her vitality goodbye.
(Hit Count: 18 hits)
2. Chouzetsu Kizanken (Superior Devil Slash Fist): A significantly faster and larger version of Memphis' regular Kizanken. Both of his arms begin to glow as he steps back and throws it at the opponent. Unblockable in the air, and knocks down a grounded or aerial opponent. Three variable speeds. Memphis can also use this attack after buffering it from standard moves. This attack will lose strength as it travels toward the opponent, so the super combo is at it's strongest (40% damage) when Memphis is close to the opponent.
(Hit Count: Level One - 5 hits, Level Two - 7 hits, Level Three - 10 hits)
3. Shin Shouran Kuzushi (True Rising Chaos Demolisher): Super-combo version of the Jashoueikyaku, meaning that in terms of SC's it's basically the Hazan Tenshoukyaku. Only main difference is that Memphis gets in more hits in this version. Max damage is 40%.
(Hit Count: Up to 15 hits)
4. Bakuretsu Inazuma (Exploding Lightning Flash): A two-part, two-version super combo. In the true version, Memphis performs a strong uppercut that launches the opponent into the air, stunning them, and before the opponent has a chance to fall, Memphis slams a Kizanken into the ground that explodes and rises into the air to engulf the opponent. However, this move can only be done to an opponent jumping toward Memphis. The hybrid version is when an opponent's jumping toward Memphis but isn't directly near him. Memphis'll step back, then throw a ball of energy into the ground, sending an explosion of his chi hurtling upward into the sky. This move can catch an opponent out of his range, but it's significantly weaker than the move in it's true form. The true version's max damage is 45%, the hybrid version's maximum damage percentage is a mere 25%.
(Hit Count\True Version: Level One - 2 hits, Level Two - 5 hits, Level Three - 8 hits. Hit Count\Hybrid Version: Up to 10 hits.)
5. Ansatsu Komatsuki Geri (Assassin's Spinning Crescent Kick): Memphis performs a rushing forward kick attack that resembles Ken's Shippujinraikyaku, but ends differently. At the fifth spinning kick on the ground, Memphis rises up and spins Shinryuken-style in his kicking form, his kicking leg revolving and looking like that of a crescent moon (hence, the name of the move). One problem with the move is that if the opponent blocks the initial hit of the attack, Memphis will stop at the fifth hit and not go upwards with the attack. But if the initial hits connect, all the others will follow. Can be used in the air, but the super will resemble the Messatsu Gou Rasen instead of it's normal form. Aerial version is unblockable in the air.
(Hit Count: Level One - 10 hits, Level
Two - 12 hits, Level Three - 15 hits).
-----------------
INTRO POSES:
-----------------
1. Memphis has his back turned with one
hand in his pocket and the other outstretched toward the opponent in a
with silver energy swirling around his wrist and hand. Memphis says, "Yowigo
wanaika?" ("Do you have any last requests?"), then gets into his fighting
stance.
---------------------
VICTORY POSES:
---------------------
1. Memphis goes back into his intro pose and points the opponent, saying... "Hanashini narani!!!" ("That was a pathetic challenge!")
2. Memphis Long crosses one foot in front
of him and goes into a Hardy Boyz-like pose as he says, "Ikeru tomotoga...?"
("You thought you could beat me?")

BF STORYLINE:
-------------------
- Memphis Long is an assassin for hire,
with close ties to Shadaloo, Gill, and fellow assassin (and main rival)
Locke Koh. Working in cooperation with Locke Koh, Memphis was to help retrieve
the Nine Essences, but as of late, his goal has not been completed. The
assassin of the new millennium only agreed with this mission due to a promise
of more wealth and riches added to his already-lavish bank account, but
is currently pondering whether or not he got a little more than he bargained
for...
----------------------------
ORIGINAL STORYLINE:
----------------------------
- Memphis Long is an assassin for hire, affiliated with M.Bison's nefarious crime syndicate, Shadaloo. Long ago, he disregarded the codes of honor his family has used for many years, and that is to never use the powers they control for a negative purpose. However, Memphis never could commit to such a rule when he could use such power in a commercial sense...
Memphis soon had heard Bison's voice beckoning
him with the promise of wealth and power and quickly left his clan. Since
his initiation within the Shadaloo ranks, Memphis has made several millions
from his successful assassinations and his impeccable fighting skills on
the battlefield. But Memphis wants more... He craves more money, power,
and fame. There's almost nothing Memphis won't do to see his ambitions
achieved. There is no mission too dangerous, no battle he won't fight,
no assassination too tough, so long as it's worth his time. And if it's
worth PLENTY of money...
