SCENE 5
"…so.. perchance, according to the laws
of this phoenix tradition the chosen warrior will never ultimately suffer
the ordeal of death?" Volpe grinned behind his steaming mug of hot chocolate.
"That 'tis hardly fair."
Crista's wild hair swirled about as she
shook her head dramatically.
"Wrong again. The phoenix follower can
die just as easily as the next overpowered streetfighter. In fact some
of the legendary techniques require the warrior to temporary die to become
even more powerful than before."
"It is my skilled estimation that such
an act would sting a bit."
"You have no idea."
Volpe tapped his new pair of sunglasses
idly.
"So when does the timely god decree it
to be time for his lovely follower to go out and play once more?"
"For every new generation, there is a
new warrior replacing the old in order to combat the evils of the world."
Crista rolled her eyes. "Gah. I almost sounded like you for a second. I
have GOT to get out of here."
"A phoenix, born of fire, rising from
the ashes anew, then?"
"In a warped, skewed nutshell, pretty much."
Crista grimaced as she glanced at her watch.
Aaron cupped his hands and cocked his
head with a grin.
"Does the bonnie lass have a date entailing
a night of passion, mayhap?"
Crista failed even to blink. A smile was
firmly fastened on her lips.
"With luck, yes." She then pushed her
chair and left the inn with a wink and carefree toss of the hand.
"Horah. 'Tis worthy of a toast, methinks."
The grinning fighter saluted the receding figure of the young woman with
his mug,
"to death, love and life, and not necessarily
in that order." And with that downed its contents happily.
A figure in a black cloak guided the successor to Bushin Ninjitsu to his destination. The ninja looked around, his dark eyes serious, revealing nothing. His brown hair drooped with long bangs, complementing his chiseled features. He was the type who was rarely caught off guard. His lean body had been trained since childhood to detect every whisper of a sound, and to pose for action, should it be necessary.
His eyes shifted, noting his environment.
Bright lights stood tall, towering over him. Many people hustled around,
doing their own errands. One would think that a normal street where passerbys
used bikes and cars had turned into a movie set. And sitting on a chair
with the blue canvas backrest labeled with a gold star and the name "Fei
Long," was the name bearer himself. He was engaged in a discussion with
the director, the ninja assumed.
"I think it's best if we get you from this
angle," the director instructed.
The cloaked figure cleared his throat.
The actor, Fei Long, looked up. His eyes narrowed slightly.
"I am your opponent today," the Bushin
ninja said quietly.
The director frowned, looking at Fei Long.
"Your agent didn't tell me you had a fight today,"
Fei Long grinned and shrugged. "I didn't
tell him."
"But, the money we're spending to shoot
this on location commercial, every hour we're out here, we-"
"Your salary is high. I'm sure you won't
mind giving some of it to your employees, this will be done in a few minutes,"
Fei Long dismissed his comment. He turned to the ninja. "I didn't catch
your name."
"Guy," he said simply.
Fei Long nodded, and he got up from his
chair. "Prepare to fight,"
Guy glanced around before turning his
eyes to the actor. A set was not exactly what he had in mind for a battle
location. He wondered if his opponent took the world of street fighting
seriously. Two warriors battling in a test of martial arts skills normally
would fight on a landscape, by their homes, but not on a set.
Fei Long brought his fists up to signal
that he was ready to commence the battle. Guy slowly did the same. The
cloaked figure, who would be referee, raised his arm and sliced the air,
indicating that the fight had begun.
Fei Long hopped forward to do a kick.
Guy jumped to the side. Fei Long quickly dashed towards him, his fists
flying. Guy blocked the Rekka-ken, Fei Long's momentum pushing him back
several feet. He had to admit, Fei Long had speed. But Guy's Bushin training
had given him speed and agility as well. Fei Long's slow recovery from
the Rekka-ken gave Guy a few minutes to attack. He flipped backward, his
feet hitting Fei Long in the gut and the face.
"Not his face!" the director cried out.
Ignoring him, Guy dashed forward and slid
to the ground, hitting Fei Long's lower shins. Fei Long stumbled, falling
on his face as Guy slid under and behind him. Guy got to his feet and waited
for Fei Long to stand. The Chinese actor rubbed his jaw. Fei Long dashed
forward, attacking with a high jab to the face, low jab to the midsection,
and a kick to the shins. Guy countered each with a punch of his own.
Fei Long jumped back, cursing. This was
harder than he thought. Quickly snatching a prop rope on his left, he began
twirling it around and around. Guy frowned slightly. What is he doing?
Guy wondered.
Fei Long quickly tossed the rope at Guy,
and it snagged around his wrist. If Guy was surprised, he did not reveal
his emotion.
Fei Long tugged hard, and Guy stumbled
forward. Fei Long jumped forward to kick Guy's chest with several quick
hits. Guy unsuccessfully tried to free his wrist, but Fei Long wouldn't
let him. He'd tug him so he could attack him. Finally, Guy gave up on freeing
himself. Guy jumped towards Fei Long, grabbed him and slammed him into
the ground. Guy unwound his wrist and tugged the rope hard, dragging Fei
Long towards him. Fei Long dropped the rope, realizing that it was no use
for him.
Guy dashed forward and launched himself
in the air, extending his foot to deliver a high kick. Fei Long reeled
back from the hit. Guy dashed forward, smashing Fei Long's chest with his
elbow.
Fei Long scowled, snatched a lamp and
swung it at Guy. Guy jumped to the side, snatched Fei Long's chair and
tossed it at him.
"Hey!" the actor screamed, putting the
lamp aside. "Not my chair!"
He caught it and tried to set it down,
but Guy kicked his arm, causing Fei Long and the chair to fall. Guy jumped
to kick him, but Fei Long saw him coming, and countered with his flaming
dragon kick, causing him to rise in the air, his chi given off as flames.
Guy flew back, his ninja outfit singed
by the controlled burst of heat. When he recovered, he dashed forward and
stopped just short of Fei Long's range. Fei Long was too late, for he had
kicked high in the air, believing that Guy would not be able to control
his speed and momentum. Guy snatched his foot and kicked Fei Long's back.
Fei Long attacked with a barrage of punches
after he recovered. Guy blocked those and hit Fei Long's upper torso three
times with his fists.
The last punch sent Fei Long reeling, but
Guy caught him with his Bushin Hassoken attack. He jumped, attacking Fei
Long with many punches that kept him in the air, and finished him with
a flip kick. Fei Long crashed to the ground.
Guy quietly landed on his feet, and the
referee held up his arm to indicate that he was the winner. The director
looked at the unconscious actor, his head in his hands.
"He's a mess! How are we gonna shoot the
commercial now?" the director lamented. A light tap on the shoulder was
his response.
"Eh?" Turning his head he spied a young
attractive Hispanic woman, a muscle bound Italian guy in a pink muscle
shirt, and a large grinning dark-skinned man grinning underneath a faded
red cap.
"'Lo sir," the Italian one began, grinning.
"Perchance we may be of surface?" And with that the trio struck a heroic
pose, theme music somehow playing in the background.
*Why did they have to schedule the fight right now?* John muttered in his thoughts as he patted his stomach. *I'm hungry . . .*
The setting they stood at had several crowds of people on the streets, either passing by or wanting to have a view of some of the action going on in the tournament. John tugged at his gi jacket nervously, he had yet to know who his opponent was.
"HIIIIYYYYYYAAAAA!!" a loud boisterous female voice cried out and the crowd parted to reveal a young Oriental woman with bleached hair tied into a pair of long ponytails at each respective side.
John almost fainted and would have lost the match by being unconcious as the blood spewed to the floor from his nose. Not by any physical blow however. But gathering his ki and resolve, he managed to looked in dazed astonishment towards his opponent.
R. Mika.
Lucky bastard.
"Hooouu!" R. Mika let out a howl as she made a muscle with her arm. "John Heagy, right?" Her body jiggled a little bit in her already scanty frilly outfit. "I'm R. Mika, you're opponent!"
John managed to gather enough of his wits by trying very hard to avoid looking in her direction. It helped, barely. He blushes and bows towards the well-endowed woman. He glanced around nervously and placed himself into a half-hearted fighting stance.
He stared as R. Mika stretched on a portable wrestling ring and flipped backwards to land into a fighting stance obviously meant for grappling, like wrestling.
"Ikuzo! (Let's go!)" R. Mika grinned and flashed a smile his way.
John almost melted right then and there.
The fight began, John's resolve half-hearted as he dodged and blocked R. Mika's onslaught of attacks. Her eyes glinted when she got the idea he wasn't planning on doing much as she suddenly grabbed him, spun him around, and suplexed him.
She held that suplex, her ample bosom brushing against his back, causing this innocent male to sweat. "Hey, you're making me look bad here!" R. Mika growled in a low voice. "You better start fighting or else I'll pull in a favor from Zangief and send you to Spinning Pile Driver Hell!"
John's eyes widened in horror and the reluctance he had for fighting women was quickly melting away, replaced by a fear of immense spinning at extremely high altitudes crashing loudly onto the pavement of the floor.
"KIYAH!" John shouted when R. Mika sent him flying to the ground, he quickly rolled to his feet and sent a discus of ki her way.
R. Mika smiled as she dodged the attack. "That's better!" With that, she ran straight towards him with a clothesline, her arm straight out towards the side knocking him back with it.
The two fought with more vigor this time, the crowd, particularly the males, were cheering now that R. Mika was bouncing alot more in this intense battle. John's resolve was quickly slipping away when he noticed this as well. All the right curves . . . bouncing up and down, up and down, up and down . . .
"HIYA!" R. Mika shouted as she launched herself at him.
He got a chest full of ass.
"HIYA!" R. Mika shouted again, knocking him to the floor. R. Mika winced and she rubbed her bottom.
Men cheered!
"What the hell are you doing?!" R. Mika shouted at John, her anger starting to show. "Take me seriously, or else I promise ALOT more than that Super Spinning Pile Driver!" With that, she charged!
John Heagy closed his eyes and lashed out randomly. His knuckle managed to hit something quite hard. And when he opened his eyes again, he found an unconcious R. Mika lying on the floor.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!" John bowed on his knees repeatedly besides the knocked out form of R. Mika.
"Winner by knockout, John Heagy!" the referee announced.
"Well . . . that caught me by surprise." R. Mika winced as she rubbed the side of her head, then smiled. "Guess I underestimated you, cutie." With that, she kissed John's cheek.
*PHOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSHHHH!!*
A fountain of blood spewed from John's nose as he fell back unconscious and twitching with a happy smile upon his face. He would need some blood transfusion.
"Juni, am I right?" Lilly smiled towards the short haired young woman clad all in black. She twirled her flute in her hand, and smiled towards Yang at the side.
"Product name, Juni, adrenaline increase,
ready for battle." Juni replied curtly.
"Why are you talking like that?" Lilly
wrinkled her nose. "You sound like some sort of machine . . ."
"Lilly Yin verses Juni, begin!" the referee
intoned.
"What?" Lilly blinked, then ducked a flying
kick from her opponent.
"Lilly, concentrate!" Yang whispered as
he moved to the side.
Lilly nodded with grim determination as she raised her arms into stance against her opponent. Juni never even blinked as she looked Lilly steadily in the eyes, lunging forward with an elbow towards the face. Lilly moved her head to the side at the last minute, but her eyes widened and she letted out a small shout of pain as Juni followed the attack into a powerful backfist.
Lilly rolled into the fall, getting up quickly, but she leaped back in with a flying side kick, catching Juni across the face. The two females battled back and forth continuously, Lilly's kick met with Juni's kicks, Lilly's open palm strikes clashed against Juni's fists. Women never sweat, but these two women were sweating as they tried to gain an advantage over the other.
"HOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUU!!!" Lilly shouted as she flew up kicking into the air, with Juni behind the kicks in the form of Tenshou Hyaku.
Juni landed crouched upon her feet, she wiped the blood away from her mouth and blurred. Appearing behind Lilly, and delivering a sharp blow between her shoulder-blades.
"Damn!" Lilly cursed as she spun around with her flute, which was intercepted by Juni's arm. "Let go!" Lilly felt a surge of anger well up inside her as she delivered a sharp blow under Juni's chin, and a knee to the gut.
Juni staggered back, muttering. "Underestimated opponent, metabolism raised by twenty percent. Go." Juni charged forward and flowed into a Spiral Arrow, twisting her body and spinning as she practically drilled into Lilly's abdominal.
*She's gotten stronger . . .* Lilly winced, and barely managed to duck a high kick aimed to her head. *Faster too. What happened?* Lilly's strength was quickly slipping away, while her opponent seemed to relentlessly gain strength and speed over her.
"Spinning Bird Kick!" Lilly shouted flipping upside down and spinning with her legs forming a split. She gritted her teeth as she sent kick after kick across Juni's face before her opponent was sent flying and she settled down upon the ground.
"Adrenaline operating at a hundred percent." Juni murmured as she stood up unsteadily, and soon enough, was bouncing on her toes with her fists raised before her. "Self-healing activated."
*I can't keep going like this.* Lilly panted heavily. *I need to take her down in one attack . . .* She slowly closed her eyes, small bubbles of ki beginning to swirl around her. *One attack, just this one will be enough. I can try and wear her down, but I'll be the one worn down in the end. This attack has a better chance.* Lilly crossed her arms before her, a powerful ki emitting from her despite her health.
"Opponent's power level is rising." Juni
said apathetically. "Preparing to-"
"XUAN FENG WU!" Lilly sccreamed as she
unfolded her arms and began spinning about, a cyclone appearing beneathe
as it charged straight into Juni.
"Winner of match by knock-out, Lilly Yin!"
the referee announced, slapping the dust off his uniform from the dust
her mini-tornado had sparyed all over the area.
"That was good, Lilly." Yang smiled as
he clasped his hand upon her shoulder.
Lilly fainted into his arms due to exhaustion.
"What? Jon Heagy won his match against R. Mika?" M. Bison growled as he looked down upon the cloaked young woman before him. He clenched his fist tightly for a moment, it began emitting its dark aura, then he finally relaxed. Doctor's orders. Ever since the incident with Kay Lee, he was feeling a lil snappish lately. "Kill him." With that, he turned away with a flourish of his cape given by years of tripping and falling upon it.
The cloaked figure seemed to float away
towards the exit with some shuffling within the cloak. Peering inside,
many would face fault at the sight of the figure peeling an orange and
eating it.
The white flower rested peacefully upon
her feather-stuffed pillow. The dreams she welcomes provoked the smile
that lay gently across her face. In the living room, though, welcomed a
dialogue of contradicting actions…
"How stupid are you?" Yun snapped his
question out slapping his brother hard in the face.
"Eh?" Yang took the slap as if it were
a mere soft breeze.
"You know what I'm saying. It was so obvious
after she collapsed in your arms you were petrified."
"Yeah, so? It's called caring for others.
You should try it," Yang snapped back at his immature brother feeling the
braided boy deserved it.
"I just want you to see the light, man.
I mean, not literally, but you get what I'm saying. How many times is she
going to do this until she collapses for good?"
"…."
"Yeah, see? I know I maybe an annoying
bro, but I'm not stupid. She's suffering every day and it only worsens."
"I know," Yang muttered.
"Good, then you'll know you shouldn't
expect much from her. After all, she only has a couple of months left.
After that, then what?"
"I… don't know. I can't tell," Yang spoke
a mature tone.
"I mean, she's suicidal for being at a
tournament with her condition. She should be in the States right now seeking
chemotherapy or something. After all, she could be saved if she only decided
to seek treatment."
"You tell her that then. She has an independent
spirit and that's one of the many reasons I admire her for it," Yang smiled.
"Good for you pretty boy," Yun sarcastically
remarked.
"Jealous?" Yang smile raising a single
eyebrow.
"You wish," Yun rolled his eyes, "I just
want you to realize that girl-friend you got in there is only temporary."
Yang smiled, sighed and fondled his hair.
Then went to check upon Lilly.
At Fighters' Diner . . .
"Food . . . must have food . . ." John moaned as he pounded his fist weakly upon his table, the wood creaked somewhat, it was an old table.
"Here you go, sir, thank you for being so-" the waiter blinked as the large plate of food was quickly snatched from his hands. And blinked again as he watched John attempting to take everything, including the plate, in. "These fighters sure get hungry . . ." the waiter blinked, thinking back to the oriental man and the hispanic woman from the day before.
John was too busy trying to ease the hollowness within his belly to pay attention to the waiter or anyone else. He was holding the plate up, making indecent sounds in his desperate effort to end hunger, his own.
He did not notice the cloaked figure leap high into the air, his honed instincts too distracted to even notice the gleam of a short object in the cloaked figure's hand.
*CRASH*
He did notice that someone had tried to land on his table and ended up crashing through it.
"Uuuuuuuuhhhhhh . . . Wowee . . . looky at all the pretty oranges." the cloaked figure moaned from the wreckage.
John Heagy was not a stupid man, he could put one and one together and go. "OH MY GOD! Someone's out to kill me!" With that, he ran screaming for help, in case there were others looking for his hide.
"Hey, he didn't pay his bill!" the waiter shouted.
Such attempts were common around this neighborhood,
which was why these tables were so cheap and old. People continued to chat
and eat, not really paying attention to the dazed figure within the rubbage.
Back to John . . .
"Someone's trying to kill me! Someone's trying to kill me! Someone's trying to kill me! Someone's trying to kill me!" John panted as he ran as hard as he could, suddenly he bumped into someone.
"Aiya . . . watch where you're going!"
the person who crashed into shouted.
"I'm sorry!" John replied, then blinked.
"Wai Lim! You gotta help me!"
"John?" Wai Lim blinked. "What's wrong?"
"Someone's trying to kill me!" John said
nervously. No one had ever tried to kill him before, why now?
"Okay, okay, so where are they?" Wai Lim blinked.
"Back at Fighters' Diner, where I was eating."
John replied, and began dragging Wai Lim's arm. "Here, I'll show you the
way!"
"Fighters' Diner . . ." Wai Lim muttered
increduously.
The two finally arrived, and the cloaked
figure was dozing off.
"This is your killer?" Wai Lim blinked.
"You shoulda seen here! She was alot scarier
than before! I think she can change into some sorta monster with wings,
and fangs and all!" When your life is in danger, you stop making sense.
Wai Lim tied the cloaked figure up and
handed her over to John.
"Take her to the mainland cops, something's
fishy about the cops on this island anyway."
"Alright." John gulped.
Opening the creaking, desperately seeking WD40/oil, he kept the lights low. His head would hit his pillow very soon. He searched the entire cabin till he found the couch where he placed his duffel bag and jacket. He kicked off his sandals and took off his shirt walking into the bedroom wanting to be fast asleep within the next five minutes. From the clear viewing window sat a not so clear object. -He wasn't alone… His pupils enlarged, he dropped his shirt and he quickly flickered on the light.
"C-Crista?"
The female long hared fighter smiled,
"S'about time you got home. I was wondering
if you were having fun without me or something."
"N-naw… Heagy just needed… help."
Crista's nods followed silence from her
lips.
Wai Lim quickly picked up his shirt and
made his way over to his bathroom, "How'd you get in?"
"Your window's open," She answered. Wai
Lim,
"I told the cleaning ladies to close it
how many times and they- Hey, why ARE you here?"
Crista paused almost missing Wai Lim's
question, "Can I sleep here tonight."
An audible crash echoed through the bathroom,
bedroom and cabin of Wai Lim.
Crista quickly jumped up, "Wai Lim!" She
rushed inside the bathroom seeing he dropped his drinking cup. She smiled,
"Baka…"
"S-Spend the night?" He muttered.
Crista half smiled, "Yes silly. Just you,
me, the couch and bed…"
Somewhere in the far reaches of his mind,
Night swore he heard one of himself say Damn.
Later at the mainland . . .
"I can't go back?" John asked, a sinking
feeling within the pits of his stomach.
"Sorry, son, there's a storm brewing out
there. You won't make it to the island till it blows over." the clerk shook
his head.
"This really isn't my day . . ." John
sighed.
SCENE 6A (Because LF was to tired to finish the bloody thing.)
"Still stalking me, eh?" Ken grinned as
he adjusted his gloves. "What brings the second best Karate champion of
the United States into this tournament?"
"Nothing much, except to kick some asses,
especially yours." Allen Snider grinned as he did a few warm up stretches.
"You still ripped off my moves you know."
Ken glared.
"So?"
"So I'm gonna kick your ass!"
"Not before I kick yours!" Allen bared
his teeth.
"I've kicked your ass back in the states,
and I'll kick your ass again." Ken smirked as he thumbed his nose towards
Allen.
"Match begin, ready! Fight! Go!" the referee
signaled quickly.
"SOUL FIRE!" Allen shouted, letting loose
a burst of ki from his open hands.
Ken leaped over the fireball and began
spinning as he made his descent. "TATSUMAKI SENPUU KYAKU!"
"Ooow!" Allen shouted as he flew back into
a pile of crates which served no purpose except to be broken for the delight
of the fans watching.
"Heh, you can't copy that!" Ken smirked.
"Yea, but I can do something just as effective,
JUSTICE FIST!" Allen shouted when he came within range of Ken.
Ken, expecting the attack, moved to the side quickly. "Slow recovery." Ken smiled as he sent a jab between Allen's eyes while he sought to recover from performing the Justice Fist.
Ken continued his quickly assaults, moving high and low to confuse Allen. Allen grunted and took the opening when it came by hitting away Ken's punch toward his brow, and sending a crushing blow to his opponent's gut. "Don't underestimate me!" Allen shouted as he spun with a side kick across Ken's head, followed up with a forward snap kick to the abdominal. "RISING DRAGON!" Allen shouted, flying up into the air quickly with a multi-hitting uppercut.
"Not bad." Ken grudgingly admitted when he managed to pick himself off the floor, he wiped his mouth of the little bit of spit that came from Allen's Rising Dragon. "You're still just a little fish in a big pond, though." With that, Ken brought his hands together gathering ki between them and shoved it forward spiraling towards Allen. "HADOU KEN!"
"JUSTICE FIST!" Allen shouted, doing a faster version to dissipate the energy wave quickly. Ken was already following up on his attack however, and Allen barely duck the roundhouse to the head and rolled away from the sweep kick.
The two karate fighters pounced on each other like tigers hungry for the kill, neither willing to give up even an inch of their offense. An eye for an eye they say, but it was a jab for a jab, a kick for a kick. Ken's fiery Shouryuken clashed against Allen's Rising Dragon.
"FIRE FORCE!" Allen shouted suddenly as he moved with his hands and sent an awesome burst of fiery ki slamming into Ken's gut.
The world was suddenly filled with a burning sensation as Ken saw flames everywhere, waving his hands around instinctively, Ken got to the ground and rolled away from his opponent to put out the fire.
"You're going down, Ken." Allen snarled as he ran to his opponent, grabbing him by his hair and pulling him up to knee him repeatedly in the face.
Ken's hands scrambled for Allen's, grunting at each contact the knee made against his face, he clenched his hands around Allen's with unexpected strength and slammed Allen to the ground on his back. Allen's eyes widened at the angry glean in Ken's eyes from his battered face before the blonde Shotokan pulled back his fist and began releasing a barrage of punches against Allen's own face.
Using the adrenaline rushing through his veins from the pain of Ken's punches, Allen kicked out wildly and managed to shove Ken away from him. The two opponents glared at each other from across the stage, their battered bleeding faces showing the level they were taking their fights normally compared to a martial arts tournament. This was a street fighting tournament, not a karate tournament the two had back in the United States.
Tigers never back down, and the two opponents charged in again towards each other, fists and kicks flying with far more ferocity than there had been at the beginning. Allen's lunging karate chop was suddenly hit to the side, and his eyes widened when he felt the ki that Ken had been gathering.
"SHINRYUKEN!" Ken screamed at the top of his lungs connecting Allen's gut with his fist. He continued to stay with Allen after that, his fist raining blows against his opponent's body even as they traveled up skywards.
Allen's body lay on the stage, unconscious and bloody, yet still breathing.
"K.O.!" the referee declared and motioned towards Ken. "Winner!"
Ken raised his fist up in victory to the applause of his fans.
"Heh, another great fight, Ken." Allen grinned when he saw Ken at the ambulance. "But you gotta admit, I got a few good shots at you too."
"You did." Ken winced as the aide at his side bandaged his side a little too tight. "I just hope Eliza doesn't find out about this . . . She'd get a cow you know." When he saw Allen's face go pasty white and his eyes widened in horror, and the moisture seem to leave his lips. "She's right behind me, isn't she?"
Allen nodded numbly.
"KEN MASTERS! WE HAVE TO HAVE A TALK!" Eliza shouted angrily. Talk, as in she talked and he shut up and listened.
Deathwish Cliff, Isle of Shadows
Sunset on the western cliff of the man made island, like a fiery blood bath blazing across the sky. The sea as well cast in warm red glow crashing up against the steep cliff wall, Ryu and Chun Li strolling along the path to a higher area. A brown-white wolf loping by their side.
"You sure about this?" Ryu asked
"Yup. I want to watch this fight first."
"Worried?"
"Aren’t you?" She looked at him.
"Who won’t be? This is like Déjà
vu."
"RYU!!!! What manner of trickery is this!!!" A voice thundered A mountain of muscle and hate tower before them. Brand growled.
"No tricks. Sagat. She is your opponent."
The black clad referee said. Pointing to the other side. Sitting on the
edge of the cliff throwing little stones over was Iwa, leaning against
her back was Kumori watching Sagat while sips away her coconut juice.
Ryu and Chun Li headed over to the two
and handed Iwa a package. Iwa removed both her gloves and open the package.
Within lies a pair of half gloves made from some kind of bluish gray scales.
"Sure to a long time to arrive by mail."
Iwa mumbled putting on the matching gloves.
"But she is but a mere child! Let me fight
him instead!!!" Sagat pointed Ryu.
"Rules are rules, Sagat. Unless you wish
to take it up with Lord Vega(Bison)." The referee continued.
"There is no satisfaction in victory over
a child!!!" he roared once more, anger glinting in his eyes, revenge so
close yet so far away.
<< Yes. And
she is Chun Li’s disciple and Ryu’s daughter. Sagat. Are you afraid to
be defeated by a mere child as Ryu had defeated you back then?
>> Bison’s(Balrog) voice came from no where
<< What
business do you have here!!! >> Sagat
looked around
<<
Master shows interest in this match. He orders you bring the girl down.
Unless you wish to forfeit this match and your chance to take revenge against
Ryu? >>
"….You will regret sending a child against
me…Ryu…..After her, you will be next….." Sagat growled.
"Excuse me. Ms Chun Li." The referee approached
her.
"Yes?"
"You have a fight with a Mr. Hugo. The
location is at the foot of this hill."
"Never heard of the name."
"Déjà vu….What is this? My
alternate reality coming back to haunt me?" Iwa got up from her dangerous
seat and walked over.
"That bad?" Ryu asked her.
"So bad that the only thing missing now
is thunder and lightning." Iwa slapped her forehead, the strange uneasy
feeling looming over her. Then Iwa realized it was the shadow of Sagat.
"Would you two be fine?" Ryu asked
"Sure not much of a problem." Kumori said.
"Yeah you just go cheer on Li Jie. I got
Kumori here." Iwa said slapping her friend on the back.
"Do us proud." Ryu said to Iwa, as they
grabbed each other wrists.
"Your treat for supper tonight?" Iwa asked
Ryu.
"If you’re still alive by then." Chun Li
said
"Ha! You really wanna be alone with Ryu
gor. Tough cause she don’t die easy." Kumori winked. The three glared at
her but the referee interrupted. Ryu and Chun Li followed the referee down
the slope. Along with them, the couple took Brand and Maru.
"Whoa big tough guy. You’re really gonna
get it this time." Kumori hovered up to a strong branch of the nearest
tree.
"What jealous that you always get the
small size ones?" Iwa looked up as she got into position
"Nya, ha. Now shut up and fight! Rearrange
his ugly mug while your at it!!!!" Kumori brought out a bag of popcorn
from Iwa’s backpack.
Though there was no lightning or thunder the wind was strong enough to send leaves flying over the cliff. Iwa narrowed her eyes observing her opponent, her stance clearly defensive. Holding her left hand forward in an almost claw left fashion while her right hand was held close to her face in a loose fist. Within her mind strategies and the occasional thought of coffee and an uncompleted RPG game flow through her head.
"GGGRRAAAGHHH!!!!" Sagat yelled rushing forward. Delivering a slew of punches, missing his mark constantly as Iwa kept swatting them away. A straight punch to his abdomen sends him reeling back a little.
"Tiger!! Tiger!!! Tiger!!" he yelled throwing three successive projectiles
"Helloooo….." Iwa called out with a fake accent and attitude. Making an up-down motion with her index finger bringing Sagat’s attention to the top of her head, an indication on her lack of height as the three projectile whooshed passed her missing her head by a almost a head. A low growl emitted from Sagat as he rushed towards Iwa once more.
Kumori eyed Iwa's fighting progress with
nothing less than glee, shouting out words of encouragement and catcalls
to the massive Mui Thai fighter with unparalleled enthusiasm.
"YOSH!" Kumori made a muscle. "Way to
kick a seven foot streetfighter in the shin, Iwa!" Kumori chortled as Iwa
flipped backwards to avoid an array of blows. "He's going to be hopping
mad!"
Both fighters paused, then turned to stare
at her blankly.
"What?" Kumori grinned.
Sagat pondered if he should aim a chi
blast at her instead.
The fact that Kumori, aside from the two
fighters and the referee, was the only one in the quickly darkening forest
did little to impede her fun. The energy of her voice spilled out into
the surrounding woodland and flora, echoing hither and yon.
"Go, go Iwa!" Kumori laughed as she brandished
a pair of neon pompoms that she had recently summoned out of nothingness.
"Tiger!!" he roared, this time letting it go low. Iwa smirked as she leapt over the projectile, right leg straightened as she stomps upon Sagat’s head and landed a little distance behind him. She turned and fell into defensive again and waited. As Sagat rushed towards her, she puts her plan to effect attacking him from his blind side, only to be caught instead and received instead a painful reminder as a knee rams into her abdomen. She shook her head, trying to clear the stars from her eyes.
"Predictable as most are." Sagat laughed, cracking is knuckles as he staled towards Iwa who was still trying to catch her breath. With one hand he held Iwa’s collar. Repeatedly Sagat rammed his knee into Iwa’s gut.
"Where is your arrogance now?!" slamming his fist into Iwa’s face, he was slightly surprised that there was no even a squeak of pain coming from her.
"THIS IS NOT MY FAULT!! BLAME YOUR SENSEI
FOR YOUR FATE!!!!" He roared. Slamming Iwa face first into the ground and
lifted her up again.
"HE should have face me himself!!!! NOT
SEND A CHILD TO DO A MAN"S WORK!!!!" Sagat gloated, he failed to see Iwa’s
right shoulder twitched a little.
"HEY! Tall, dark and ugly!!" Iwa hissed,
getting Sagat attention. Her shoulder twitched the second time ramming
her palm right into Sagat’s face.
"Kisatsu Ken!"
"GGRAAGH!!!" Sagat yelled in pain as a ball of chi exploded in his face. Iwa landed on her feet. Landing on the ground she spat out a large glob of blood. Moving a little distance away as Sagat got up. It was no surprise that to him, this child gets in the way of his revenge against Ryu and for that she must die. No he will not lose twice.
"To hell with what Lord Vega(Bison) ordered."
He mumbled as got on his feet, the fire of insanity seem to burn within
him. As he moved towards Iwa who was too near to the edge. He smiled, knowing
that victory would be his. Break the child, break Ryu’s spirit.
With his longer limbs he had an advantage
over Iwa, in his attacks he was faster, all Iwa could do was defend. Defend
till she broke through in attack. The only attacks she could use were projectiles
for she loses out in range in terms of punches and kicks. Every time she
was cornered, she had flip her way over Sagat’s head to avoid Sagat’s head
on attacks. Iwa knew she was at a disadvantage if she was to face him head
on.
A short distance away..
"Hmm.. towel, check. Water, check. Change
of clothes, check. Autographed flipbook of Fei Long scantily clad in lurid
suggestive positions, check. Food, check. Jogging shoes, check. Pink marshmallow
bunny heads, check." Kumori blinked behind her lightweight lenses.
"Where did those come from?" She shrugged
and reclined in the shifting grass. "Everything's ready for when Iwa finishes
pasting baldie." She released a short cry in a impressive stretch, then
gazed at the shifting clouds. "Pretty.."
"You have that much faith in the abilities
of your friend, young one?"
"Eh?" The only noticeable movement on
Kumori's part was the shifting of her expansive hair in the wild wind.
"The magnificent Kumori is preparing to sharpen her skills by a deep state
of meditation, otherwise known as a nap." She yawned cutely, adjusting
her glasses.
"Whad'ya want?"
"If you want to help Ryu there are far
better ways of training oneself." The soft tone of a mature woman intoned.
"I believe Chun Li would agree in this matter." A brilliant yellow cloth
composed of silk danced in the corner of Kumori's vision.
"…yellow?" Kumori twisted her head around
and released an ecstatic smile. "Rose!"
"Greetings, child." The ageless, marbled
features of the famous streetfighter betrayed a small smile as Kumori scrambled
upwards.
The young girl proffered a slip of paper
from her notebook. "May I have an autograph, please?"
Rose nodded and accepted the parchment.
"Certainly, how have…" the woman arched
one fine purple eyebrow. "Well, well."
"What, what, what?"
Rose turned the object towards the ecstatic
schoolgirl on extended vacation with a smirk
"Mou.. why, pray tell, is Fei Long in
a orange jungle thong with his legs splayed apart?"
Kumori flushed crimson as she snatched
the photo and carefully presented a fresh slip of paper from another book
in her pack
"How would you like…" She began, signing
with a flourish, "to help your friend out there in the future battles to
come?"
Kumori cocked her head. "Eh? How?"
"How are you in terms of combat ability?"
"Um….."
"That bad?"
"N-no, not at all," Kumori grinned, "it's
just when I spar with Iwa I almost always end up eating the floor."
Rose sighed. "Then I suppose there is
only one thing left to do."
"What's that?"
Rose smiled. "To train you."
< Wonderful….A rat again… > she smirked,
knowing where her chances in survival lies.
< This is going to be a long fight….
>She sighed playing defensive again. Then Iwa thought she saw an opening,
she sprung forward rapidly attacking with a Hyakuretsu Kyaku. Forcing Sagat
to remain blocking.
"Tiger Uppercut!!!!" he shouted, timing
his attack at the last kick, he sent Iwa hurtling into the ground.
"How predictable…." He growled, Kicking
Iwa in the ribs. She rolled with the force over the cliff.
"AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!" Sagat laughed
But Iwa had both hands on the ledge, taking
the moment to regain her breath and think.
"Why do you keep on fighting?" Sagat shouted
as he walked over to the edge.
"Why don’t you end your miserable little
life." He stomped Iwa’s left hand.
"……." She gritted her teeth in pain. Her left hand letting go in pain.
"Don’t know why the master wants you alive….But Who gives a damn!!!!!" He stomped on her right hand. Her right hand’s grip loosens but her left hand shot up again.
"DO YOU SEE YOUR LIFE FLASHING BEFORE YOU!?" Kicking the stones before him into her, trying to get an answer.
"DO YOU WISH YOU NEVER WALK THIS PATH?!!!" Sagat shouted against the shrill wind. The rays of sunset was dying out slowly, birds returning to their cliff top nests to rest for the night, oblivious to the battle above
"We…all walk the….paths we choose….." Iwa managed
Once again Sagat stomped hard on Iwa’s left hand, he laughed watching her flinch in pain, then there was a slight jerk as the weight around left shin increased. Looking down he could see Iwa pulling onto to his shin.
"If….I have to go! ….I’m gonna bring ….everybody down!!!!!!!" She yelled and started to pull even harder.
"Still alive huh. You take after Ryu…."
He reached down grabbing Iwa by the collar of her vest. He lifted her up
and held her at arm’s length, chuckling at Iwa’s attempt to even reach
him.
Concentrate. Sense the power within your
own soul." The trademark jagged purple hair of Rose moved erratically from
the burst light forming within her palms.
Kumori grimaced, straining to contain
a similar flux of chi energy in front of her. "Like this?"
Rose gave a terse nod.
"Very good. The energy you hold in your
hands can be used for many a purpose, to heal, to manipulate nature… and
of course, to inflict harm." Rose closed her eyes, failing to show any
exertion at all.
"Gah…." Kumori's forehead began to bead
with sweat. "Okay… getting a little painful here..."
"What you hold there is all I would come
to expect from your years of training," began Rose's haunted voice. "Now,
focus child. Draw in the energies surrounding you." Kumori watched silent
amazement as the sphere of energy in Rose's palms grew nearly twice in
diameter.
"This is simply an extension of your thoughts.
Will it to grow."
"You have GOT to be kidding.."
Rose tapped a high-heeled shoe idly.
"Geeez.." Kumori shifted her stance to
avoid collapsing to her knees. "Here goes nothing…" She smiled as she gazed
into the swirling matrix of energy she held before her. "Grow."
Nothing happened.
"Please?"
Light danced for no apparent reason.
"Simon says?"
The sphere of light twitched.
"I said grow, dammit!"
The air surrounding the young woman began
to smell like smoke as the ball of chi began to slowly expand.
"All right!" Kumori smiled passionately,
fighting to stay conscious.
".. C'mon…." She held her arms aloft as
raw energy crackled overhead, the sphere easily four and a half feet across.
Twice the size of the light Rose held.
Rose's eyes widened in shock. "Amazing..
one with as much potential as yourself…" She clenched her teeth and closed
her eyes. "Are you ready for the final lesson, young one?"
"YES!!" Kumori's black silk shirt was
pasted to her body as she gasped for breath. "I mean, when you are ready,
Rose-sempai!"
"The force you see before you is capable
of horrible damage, rivaling that of the greatest modern weaponry. This
should only be used in times of great need, child. "
"….ah..awe…awe..some…."
Despite her closed eyes the expression
on Rose's face hardened. "Due to amazing strain it brings upon the user
you will either adapt to the manipulation of life energy or die."
"…crap…"
Rose gracefully floated upwards in the
sky, her eyes finally snapping open. "Now child…" Kumori noticed in a haze
of vision a single tear slide down the older woman's cheek. "-sempai?"
"Observe the potential force you hold
within your hands.." The surrounding sunset was assaulted by a brilliant
array of lights as Rose turned towards Kumori. "FIRST HAND!! DIE!"
Azure energy streaked from the hands of
a wild-eyed Rose towards the young girl.
Kumori had a fraction of a second to scream
before her entire body was consumed in blue explosion of energy rivaling
the size of a four story house.
"No….history will not happen again…." He
mumbled, punching her in the ribs.
"……You’ll regret it!!….." Iwa spat out
in her pain
"Regret? What is regret? That I fail to
defeat Ryu back then!" He shook her roughly.
"You’re insane!" Iwa shouted, ignoring
the pain in her ribs.
"Insane? I am as sane as you are. Watch
now young one, for your death is demonstration of what is to come for RYU!!!!!!"
Sagat smiled. Revenge is sweet indeed.
< Ga-Seng (top)….? Why of all the weird
ideas…. > Iwa thought to herself, wispy strands of chi began flowing around
her gloved hands. She opened her blood hazy eyes to study her surroundings.
< Not much of an option. >
"TATSUMAKI SENPU KYAKU!!!!!!!" Iwa yelled, as she spins in land, ripping her vest apart as the force of the kicks sends Sagat reeling into a tree.
"MY VEST!!!!! My favorite vest!!!!!! My Jacky Cheung and Andy Lau collaboration concert tickets!!!! NOOOO!!! NOT my limited edition RCL illustration book confirmation ticket!!! I spent months trying to get that!!!! GGAAARRRGHHHH!!!!!" she screamed as the pieces of her vest scattered in the wind, the pockets flying out to sea.
She turned towards Sagat. With anger in her eyes, a young girl’s hobby destroyed. Rage began to builds up as the wispy strands of chi envelopes her. Her unseeing eyes glowers, her teeth showed menacingly. Unable to get over the lost of the things she worked so hard for.
"AARRHHGG!!!!!!!" Iwa roared once more
as she leaps over to the slightly dizzied Sagat and grabs him by the throat.
"DIE!!! DIE!!!! DIE!!!!!!!!!" she screeched
as she slammed Sagat repeatedly against the tree till it splintered and
broke into two and toppled over.
"GRAARRGGHH!!!!" Letting lose a frenzied
attack of punches and kicks, every punch and every kick releasing an explosion
of chi. Ramming her elbow in Sagat
"Shin Shoryuken!!!!" A rising dragon punch
sent Sagat flying. Ripping opening Sagat’s old scar as the blood spurted
out from the wound. Iwa charged her chi again, readying a Psycho Wave.
"Nay! Both thy sensei would greatly disapprove thy actions!!!!" Volpe yelled, holding a familiar black trenchcoat.
Iwa growled looking Volpe in slight puzzlement as her mind translated his odd speech. Realization hits her. She looked up towards Sagat again and back at Volpe. She shot her Volpe a ‘But they are not here to see this’ look, challenging him.
"Nay. Or ye shall face the wrath of Volpe
if ye seek to persist!!!" he called out But it was no use as Iwa chose
to ignore him.
"PSYCHO WAVE!!!!!!" Iwa screeched throwing fifty percent of her intended amount towards Sagat blasting him into a pile of rocks. Bloodied and bruised, Sagat slumped to the ground barely conscious at all. Iwa’s anger barely appeased.
"GAAARRRGGHHHH!!!!!!" Iwa released a frustrated scream as she slammed her fists in to the ground, causing a small crater.
At the bottom of the rocky slope. The match between Chun Li and Hugo was about to begin, Chun Li gave Ryu a kiss on his lips.
"What that for?" Ryu blushed slightly.
"For good luck and in case I don’t make
it back." She patted him on the face playfully, Chun Li took her position.
"Don’t you die on me." Ryu yell to her.
"I’ll try not to."
"Do! There is no trying!"
"Hugo smash little woman." Hugo said, showing
off his muscles at the same time.
As the match begins Chun Li rushed forward
delivering her signature attacks, but it seemed useless against the mountain
of muscles. Sensing danger, Chun Li attempts to leap out of the way. But
she was a second too late.
"Hugo SMASH!!" Hugo roared as he clapped
his hands hard around Chun Li waist. The woman winced but held her pain
well. Blocking off the stomp that followed.
"YAT, YAT!! YAT!! YAT!!!!!!" She let loose
a barrage of kicks towards the big monster.
<< Like fighting a brick wall… >> She sent to Ryu, who knew better than to answer, letting her keep her mind on her fight.
"That tickles!!!!" Hugo swatted, sending Chun Li crashing into a wall of stones. She turned her seeing the wall, a thought entered her mind. She got up and ran past Hugo and up part of the wall, using as a spring board to launch her into air towards Hugo. Chun Li repeatedly stomped Hugo on the head when the big lug moved backwards creating a path for a few successive stomps. She lands and rushes towards Hugo once again before the titan regains his balance. She drops low as Hugo reaches out to swat her. A crouching low kick sweeping him off his feet.
"Gooaaaggghh!!!" Hugo yelled, falling forward.
"DOH!!" Chun-Li yelped as the titan came
crashing down, she rolls out of his way and missed being crushed by a few
inches as Hugo falls heavily onto the ground causing a minor earthquake.
Throwing up a huge cloud of dust.
<< I’m fine….. >> she panted, giving Ryu a thumbs up sign. Taking the moment to regain her breath. She looked up again seeing a look of horror on Ryu’s face, turning around she was face to face with a big and broad muscled chest. Chun Li found herself trapped in the bear hug of Hugo, who was squeezing the life out of her. Her struggles seems futile.
"Stop tickling!! Har, har, har!!" He laughed as Chun-Li kept slamming her spiked bracelets into Hugo’s chest. This mass of muscle seems to feel no pain. Biting him is more likely to break her teeth than anything else. Chun Li was starting to feel tired and could barely keep her eyes open.
"Little woman go Sleepy bye!!!. Hugo win
match!!! Hugo gets popcorn….Boss!!!" he called out to Poison
"All the popcorn you can eat! Just win
the damn fight!" Poison called out.
"YES BOSS!!!" Hugo laughed as he squeezed
Chun Li harder, excited by the thought of his favorite popcorn(Okay okay
I took the idea from the HK comic. Not the fight, the popcorn)
Opening her eyes a little, Chun-Li saw the worried face of Ryu and started thinking to herself.
< No…. Couldn’t end like this…. Am I not the strongest woman in the world?….. There is no need to call for his help….Must prove to myself and Ryu that I …have what it takes….. > She fought against the drowsiness from the lack of oxygen. She realized that there was something she had yet to try. She gathered her chi.
"AAAHHH KIKOSHOU!!!!!!!!!" she screamed
as the large ball of chi enveloped them, harmless to her but burning to
Hugo, who released his hold in pain. Chun Li landed on the ground gasping
for air.
Exhausted and weary from her battle and easily seeing a double Iwa nevertheless sprinted towards the source of light she had seen moments ago, tattered vest in hand. Rounding a corner with enough speed to pick up a small dust trail the young woman gazed at the green mountainside hurriedly.
"KUMORI!" she exclaimed, gazing at the
smoking form with familiar gear nearby a small distance away. Then for
further emphasis, "SHIT!"
"KUMORI!" Iwa propped up her friends scarred
form feeling for a pulse. She breathed a sigh in relief.
"… yes…" Her eyes widened at the state her magic wielding friend was in. Over half of her clothes were burned away, along with several chunks of hair. Her glasses somehow remained intact, albeit seven meters away. No scars were evident, nor obvious wounds, leading her to believe the damage to be internal. Then she blushed in recognition.
"..Geez.." Iwa hastily wrapped what was
left of her vest around Kumori's exposed breasts, luckily half of her pants
survived whatever hit her, as well as her undergarments.
"Who DARES?" she raged, fists balling
up.
Then Kumori's long lashes rose, eyes fluttering,
regarding the irate Iwa with a panicked expression.
"..Iwa.." she whispered.
"What? Who did this? Tell me!"
Kumori attempted to grab Iwa by the collar
of her shirt, but lacked the strength. The young woman let out a sharp
cry of pain. Iwa strained to hear her friend.
"watch-"
A massive blast of chi energy twice her
size slammed directly into Iwa's side, sending the already wounded young
fighter flying in the air with a shrill scream, bouncing several times
off the ground, nearby stumps of trees, brush, and finally hitting her
head on a large rock, where Iwa collapsed and lay still.
"-out." Kumori turned her head to the
side as blood dribbled from her lips. "..damn…"
The sound of high heels hitting the ground
in the distance marked the entrance of Rose. "So.. the information holds
true…" Kumori's vision swam as she focused on the other woman's figure,
blurring from shock and tears.
"..why?"
Rose regarded her with a completely alien
expression, devoid of any emotion. "You will never know." Once more a ball
of energy consolidated in her outstretched palm. Kumori would have screamed
were she able.
"ARRGHH!!! Little woman bad!!! Little woman hurt Hugo!!! Hugo will win!!! Hugo wants popcorn!! Hugo shouted as he stomped towards Chun Li.
Chun Li ran towards the wall and launches herself into the air again almost getting swat by Hugo, she stomped on his head several times before reaching the ground, gathering her chi once again. Chun Li moved again avoiding Hugo’s drop kick.
"Little woman no get away!!!!" he roared as he claps his hands hard, missing Chun Li as she skipped backwards. Nothing seem to slow him down. Hugo reaches out to grabbed again. Chun Li was prepared as she uses Hugo outstretched arm as an aid to help her leap over him. At the top of the arc she took the opportunity to kick him twice in the head before her graceful landing.
Kumori's eyes were wide in fright as the
deadly blast of blue light descended towards her prone figure.
She nearly went cross-eyed when another
nearly in equal in size crashed into the first, showering the immediate
area with a wave of heat and light.
Rose shielded her eyes from the luminous
explosion, silent as death.
Kumori somehow found the strength to chuckle.
Pulsing with an eerie glow was partially
soot covered dagger, spinning lazily in mid air directly above Kumori's
wretched form. Rose cursed as light reflected off the unmarred silver hilt.
"That was a foolish thing to do."
"Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho-" Laughed a very feminine
voice jauntily. Victoria strode forward with a wry lipstick endowed grin.
"Well common sense never has been one of my strong points."
Rose's emotionless eyes narrowed. "You."
"Me." Victoria Enid posed, one hand on
her hip. "Or rather, all five feet of me More than enough for the task,
I should think."
Rose regarded her in silence.
Victoria continued her forward momentum.
"Yes? Cat got your tongue?"
The mystic streetfighter sighed and closed
her eyes.
"By coming here you have signed your death
warrant. Another soul laid to waste." Slender fingers danced idly as Rose
shifted into a fighting stance, her scarf dancing in the wind. "But first…"
Her fine eyes flashed. "The prize." The scarf lashed out towards Victoria,
followed by a blast of chi, which the young Hispanic woman negated with
one of her own.
"You need something much stronger than
that to dominate my Soul Blast." Victoria grinned and struck a defensive
stance, daggers now twirling overhead.
"Only if that was my intention." was the
flat reply.
The Spanish Assassin known as Vega dropped
from above the line of trees soundlessly, well beyond the reach of Victoria…
but a short distance from the prone and bleeding form of Iwa Hoshi.
"Oh, shit.." Victoria ran forward, summoning
every ounce of internal strength she had and flung it toward the masked
fighter; who was currently dashing fast enough to be considered a human
blur.
A flick of a yellow scarf and a burst
of blue light countered Victoria's assault. "Too late," Rose mused.
"…no…" gasped Kumori.
"You are ours once more, my pet," cackled
Vega, his claw gleaming evilly in the sunlight. He bent low to grasp the
fallen woman.
"When I think of the games we will play
my spine tingles.. que?"
Both Rose and Victoria glanced up from
their power struggle.
The slotted eyes of Vega's mask regarded
the horizon above in suspicion. "MOTHER OF…"
From above a nearby massive rock formation
somersaulted a figure screaming into the sky.
"AWAY FROM THE GIRL, THY VOLITILE BASTARD!!!"
With speed rivaling that of terminal velocity the man streaked towards
the assassin, fist outstretched.
The Spanish fighter dove for nearby cover as the figure impacted heavily on the ground in a barely recognizable blur, creating a twenty foot crater and spraying every living thing around with massive chunks of dirt and rock.
"Forgive the lack of glib witticisms but I fear you are hardly worth the effort, devil spawn." Volpe stepped into view, beyond the massive dust cloud formed only moments ago. His shades glinted in the sunlight as he surveyed the surrounding area.
"I daresay the lady Kumori purchased her
clothes with great care and not a little expense." His fist balled up white
knuckle tight, the leather gloves creaking from the strain.
"Furthermore, the young Iwa has little
desire to return to Bison's personal hell, assassin."
Rose's eyes veered a fraction of an inch,
her voice verging on that of confusion and alarm. "How do you know-"
"AN OPENING!!" declared Victoria, dashing
towards her foe, twin daggers in hand.
Vega chuckled and licked his claw. "Time
to die, little man. And after I wet my blade on your intestines the little
girl with the glasses is next. After I prove to her why my body is the
most wonderful in the world, though I may take turns-"
"ENOUGH!" Volpe roared, hurtling himself
in front of Vega, sidestepping an eviscerating stroke to the midsection
and driving his gloved fist firmly into Vega's mask; launching the fair
Spaniard a great distance backwards in the air until he experienced the
unwelcome embrace of an oak tree.
"Senretsu Kayku!!!!!!" Chun Li launched
a stampede furious kicks against Hugo, tearing up the ground as she pushed
Hugo back.
"Hazan Tensho Kyaku!!!!!!" Followed shooting
both her and Hugo up the air. As Chun Li descended to the ground gracefully,
she nearly faltered but steel herself in full concentration. Chun Li gathered
all the chi she could mustered and time Hugo’s fall.
"CHO!!!! KIKOSHOU!!!!!!!!!!! (The extra large one from SF EX2 plus)" She let all the chi go as Hugo landed in front of her. The force of the Super Kikoshou blasted Hugo away into the wall of rocks smashing the wall up, an avalanche of rocks fell onto Hugo.
Chun Li stood at ready, she could hardly believe it if this monster could still walk away. Her eyes focus on the pile of rubble, chi gathered, heart pumping faster than ever. A low rumble came from the rubble than silence. Chun Li’s eyes narrowed, stole a glance at Ryu. A smile formed on her lips and he gave her a thumbs up sign. Guess Dan had been good for something.
"HAAGGGHHHHRRRHHH!!!!!!!!!!!" A roared came from the rubble. It shook violently, then rocks were sent flying as Hugo burst out of the rubble. He made a step forward then froze, falling to the ground with a loud ‘thud’. When the dust cleared, Poison ran to Hugo’s side. Chun Li placed her hand over her rapidly beating heart.
"MEDIC!!!!" Poison shouted. The referee and a group of medical personnel ran over. It took a lot of people to carry to carry the huge giant away.
"Power is useless without skill and speed!"
She mumbled, her legs numbed. And fell into Ryu’s waiting arms.
"You okay? Hurt?" he asked with concern
as he supported her. Putting her arm around his shoulders.
"Yeah here….you wanna help me rub it later."
She pointed to her back.
"Okay."
"And here." She pointed to her ribs, Ryu
blushed
"Li…."
"Kidding, kidding….Owww" she winced in
pain from laughing
"Iwa!" the couple exclaimed, suddenly
remembering.
"Come on. I’ll carry you." Ryu said he
shifted Chun Li’s position.
"You sure? It’s a long way up." Trying
to be as comfortable as possible while clinging on to Ryu’s back.
"You know. I got a bad feeling that just
won’t go away." Chun Li mumbled as they made their way slowly back up the
steep slope.
Vega drove his heel into Volpe's back with a cry of ecstasy, sending the Investigator sprawling. His released a deep and bitter wound to the air where Volpe's neck used to be. With a grin Volpe planted a spinning roundhouse kick in the jaw of the assassin. "Understand this: to get to these young woman you will have to KILL me first. I so vow it."
Kumori, whom fought to stay conscious,
regarded his odd behavior with wonder.
"That fits nicely in my plans," hissed
Vega.
Volpe grinned as he dodged a strike to
the neck. "The odds are not in your favor, cur. United we shall indeed
save this day, and love and peace shalt follow."
"Is that so?" mused Rose, who then released
an eerie light as she rushed towards Victoria.
Victoria flushed red at the disarray of
her clothes and makeup, which had several cuts and many burnt-away patches
due to chi blasts. Once more she exchanged blows with the ageless streetfighter,
both failing to inflict serious damage. It was then she felt a familiar
twinge in the back of her mind.
"Oh god no… " she breathed. With a bloodcurdling
scream the young woman collapsed onto the dirt ground.
Volpe leapt over the blurring roll of
the master assassin and ran towards Victoria. "Lady, are you all ri-" his
combat boots skidded to a complete nerveless stop.
Her eyes pulsed a hellish red as a sadistic
smile was formed. "Okay…" she grinned demonically. "Who dies first?"
Just about then the singed, still smoking
form of Kay Lee cratered meters from Volpe's rapidly dodging form, then
insane laughter of Man Sei a short distance away.
Volpe glanced to Kumori.
Kumori glanced at Volpe.
"THIS SUCKS!!" they moaned in unison.
