Rendering to Emotion Ch. 3

"Where do we go from here?", she had to ask. She had to know. She had the right to know. Though, she didn't want to know. Why? Because of the lost expression on his face. But it wasn't his face that made her want to die, it was his eyes. The depth in his eyes couldn't hide the pain. It was almost as if he wanted it to be obvious.

"I…I don't know", was all he replied. 'it's better that you don't know.' His voice was so soft and almost wavy. Her stared at nothing- which made her so angry. When someone refuses to look in your eyes, there is nothing left but hidden truth.

"Ryu…why would you lie to me?" she asked directly, with her eyes sewn onto his face.

He turned his head awkwardly to look at her. However, that one split second that his pupils met with those of fear, forced him to retreat his eyes. He redundantly looked straight in front at dead, empty space.

"You do know what will happen", she insisted. She glared at him- without uttering another word. The silence seemed to be his safety.

"Chun Li…" he started, still refusing to glance at his love, his first love, and his only love. "I must leave…I…"

"Don't promise me you'll never make me cry or that a love like ours shall never fall apart. Don't promise me anything". She looked at the ground. "I dreamt tomorrow would have better events. My life was going to feel fulfilled, for once,…Ryu, you're just like everyone else." She spoke neutrally, almost like she had no heated soul. She was dead. Then, this strong woman broke down into a hysterical sob. Just like when her beloved father left this world.

Ryu made the attempt to hold her, but she wouldn't let his dirty soul trap her. She backed into the wall and slid down to sit for support and cried.

"Chun Li, I have to carry out my goal. I must take revenge for my sens-" he said sternly. Chun Li cut him off.

"F*** your goal! He's dead, dead, Ryu and nothing will bring him back!", she yelled with a fury.

Ryu looked at her with concern. He was astonished but mostly desolated. He could understand that she was angry. 'But she won't understand me.'

"I know it's in your heart. It's there, Ryu. Look deeper Please…please stay with me", she whimpered.

When Ryu turned his head to look at her, his heart shattered. She sat by the wall, hugging her knees. She was being ripped apart internally.

"I must stay true to my promise. I must stay true to my sensei".

"And die trying?!"

'How does she know the danger of Akuma?' he asked himself.

"You're no WARRIOR! Be a f***ing man and tell me the truth!", she screamed and it made her chest hurt. "What are you running from? You know how f***in' painful solitude is! So, why linger in your emptiness?" Ryu said nothing. He knew the pain, it was unbearable at times, but he learned to live with it. Both these individuals had come from different backgrounds. Each was handling the situation differently, but each felt the same sentiments. Love and pain.

"I gave my self to you last night…did last night mean nothing to you?" she demanded.

"No", he answered. "Chun Li, what happened last night made two souls unite. Wherever I am, I will always have a part of you with me. Nothing will separate you from me because we share one heart. That is why you must trust me. Have faith that I will return to you. I must tend to my priorities". He said icely and breathed unsteadily. 'If you only knew what I'm going through, what I'm feeling inside'.

She shot her head up to look at him. "I BLEEDING to death inside, but of course you could care less, you insensitive bast***! I'm LOSING my mind!" She sat still, with her chest heaving.

"Ryu", she began in lost hope since she couldn't get him to admit that the truth of why he had to depart. "It looks as though I may give up this fight…" She hung her head, she felt a bullet drive through her heart. "Go back under the rock from which you came from! Leave!" she ordered.

He couldn't look at her, he couldn't say a word, he couldn't think. Instead, he used his strength to walk away.
