Your Adolescent Street Fighters Ch. 19
By Silvercane

“Dan…Dan…DAN! Get up, it’s safe”, Guy panted reassuringly. Dan was curled up in a ball on the floor, with his hands cupping his ears.

“What the f*** was that?!”, Dan yelled as he slowly got up.

“Ssshh!”. Guy put a finger up to his mouth, signaling him to be quiet. They peered out the corner of the wall, at the opening of the dark alley. Two figures were pressed up against the wall. A large figure stood in front of them, pointing a gun.

“Please,..please, we didn’t take the ammunition,...we don’t know who did!”, one of the two figures insisted in a scared, wavy voice. At first, there was a long pause, no one said a thing. Then, the large figure spoke up.

“Shadowlaw doesn’t forgive mistakes”, he said in a hoarse, neutral tone. Dan and Guy closed their eyes tightly.

“POW! POW!”

The two figures fell to the floor. Another two men jogged into the alley and carried the soon-to-be corpses away, with the killer walking behind. It took a while for Dan and Guy to pull themselves together.

“Holy sh*t! We just witnessed a murder”, said Dan in disbelief.

“Not really, we didn’t see any faces or anything”, mentioned Guy, who was leaning against the wall, sweating. “It must have been like a gang or something. That was…scary, man”, said Dan, shaking his head, as Guy and him started to walk. “Shadowlaw. I wonder what that is”.

“I’ll take care of those two boys”, said the large man with the hoarse voice, as he wtched Dan and Guy walking away. He raised a gun at them.

“No!”, ordered the previous killer, smocking a cigar.

“But, they just witnessed us killing the two-“

“Don’t talk back to me! You follow my orders”, snapped the cigar-smoking man. He flipped open his cellular phone-looking device and spoke into it. “Sir, I think that Dan Hibiki and Guy Renoshi saw us eliminate the two couriers…yes…no, they didn’t…yes, Sir”. He closed the phone and put it in the breast pocket of his suit. He turned to the other man with the gun. “Just keep a watch on them, nothing more”, he ordered.

2 months later

“So, I figure if I wait ‘till he calls me, I won’t seem so desperate, but, if I wait too long, he might never ask me out. On the other hand…”

Chun Li spaced out as Cammy blabbed away. ‘1,2,3…3 months left until I return to China…”

“Chun Li! Do you ever listen to me?”, Cammy asked sarcastically. Chun Li smiled.

“Sorry, I was just counting the months until I leave. I can’t belive that the school year went by so fast”.

“Sssh!”. The librarian eyed them. They were in the library during study hall.

“Don’t worry, we’ll write to each other and visit each other”, Cammy whispered. “I personally can’t wait until I get back to England”.

“I’m gonna miss Seattle”, Chun Li sighed.

“You’re gonna miss Seattle, or are you gonna miss Ryu?”. Cammy smiled wickedly.

“There’s nothing between us”, she insisted pathetically. “He treats me like a friend”.

“Give the boy time to come to his senses”.

“Anyway, what about you and Charlie?”

Chun Li looked over at Charlie and caught him sneaking a peek at Cammy from behind his book. He saw Chun Li notice him and went back to pretending to read, “Military Vehicles”. Chun Li smiled.

“No luck there, I haven’t heard that guy say more than two words in the last year”, muttered Cammy.

“He’s just shy”.

“I guess”. Cammy sighed and turned to look at Charlie. She cught him off guard, staring at her. He sunk down in his seat and buried his head behind his book.

Chun Li and Cammy burst out giggling. Chun Li stopped laughing abruptly. She screamed as Bison stood at the doorway. Suddenly, the library turned into a vast, black field with rain. Bison laughed and flew towards her.

“Aaagh!”, she yelled as she charged towards him.

“Wake up! Wake up!”

Chun Li shot open her eyes. She looked up at concerned green eyes looking back. Chun Li’s pulse was racing.

“That’s more than five nightmares this month…Chun Li…”, Cammy said softly.

“I’m okay, please, don’t worry”. Chun Li hugged her legs and buried her face in her head. “I’m going back to China”.
