The Path of the True Warrior Ch. 6
By Ryu-san

Blue light created by the flames illuminate the room. A woman is sitting down in front of a table filled with Tarot Cards with her shawl wrapped around her. She blows her long purple hair out of her face as she draws the next card.

“Hm…!!!” She draws the next card and sees…“TOWER!”

“This is a bad omen, could it be that the two fates are now coming together again?” the women wonders.

“It must be time…I must look for Ryu and ‘that man’…”

Meanwhile, in Okinawa…

“Hey! We finally made it!” Dan celebrates.

“Yea! Ok, well, I need to get to my house. See ya~~!” she yells running off.

“Don’t forget to meet me at my dojo tomorrow!” Dan yells at her.

“Ok, c’mon buddy, we have to get you of here. I think we’ll be in trouble if anybody sees you here, ok?” Dan whispers to Blanka.

Blanka is dressed glasses, a hat and a trenchcoat. They silently sneak away into the dojo before any curious eyes wander their way.

“Whew! We made it. Hm…I wonder what everybody else is doing right now?” Dan asks nobody in particular.

China

Ryu finally manages to limp all the way to the nearest hospital. Meanwhile, Gen returns to the dojo. He spots the cracked cups and at first, he suspects Fei-Long running off. *No that’s not like him…Once I punish him, he accepts that…wait, what’s that?* He asks himself as he notices trash covering his dojo. *Hm…footsteps, this could be trouble.* He runs and follows the trail to the secluded area where the fight took place. *A wheelbarrow mark? What does that mean?* Gen follows the trail all the way to the hospital.

“Fei-Long! Chun-li!? What are the two of you doing here? Explain yourselves!” Gen demands.

“Oh, sifu, what happened was that…” Chun-li starts.

“We started a fight and lost,” Fei says in a depressed voice.

Chun-li flashes a nasty look at him but Fei doesn’t seem to notice.

“I see. So, were your opponents that good?” Gen asks.

“Well, I defeated one of them but the other was inhuman! He defeated both of us without even trying,” Chun-li exaggerates.

“I see. This is what comes about with lack of training and your fool arrogance! So, describe these warriors,” Gen once again demands.

“One of them wore a red gi and the other a white gi. One was an American, with blond hair, and the other was a Japanese. I’ll get them for humiliating me like this again!” Chun-li seethes.

“You’ll do no such thing! It looks like you’ll be stuck in that bed for another two weeks at least! As for you Fei-Long, I’m disappointed in you. How did you lose?” Gen asks.

“I couldn’t help it! The man that I fought used a technique I never saw in my entire life. I rose in the air and he jumped up and hit me with his fist, elevating both of us at least 10 feet. But the main thing was, he defied gravity and he jumped into the air and hit me until I was unconscious, which was at least 4 seconds,” Fei explains.

“Hm…could it be? Gouken, my friend, were those two your…” Gen trails off.

“Hmph. Regardless, you two will be fine in time to participate in the street fighter tournament. You two have both been invited as have I. This will be a good experience for us all. The contest starts in a month. You WILL be ready by then,” Gen says, ending the one-sided conversation.

*SLASH!!!!*

“Ha ha ha! That slice was as beautiful as me!” Vega clamors as he cut wall cleanly in half with his claw.

“I wish you wouldn’t do that Vega,” a tall man responded. His eye covered in a patch and a scar running up his chest, his good eye is full of hate and anger.

”Yea, you know how angry Bison gets when we wreck stuff for no reason,” Balrog tells him.

“Hmph! I can’t help it! Day after day, Ryu this, Ryu that, and yet he does nothing! It drives me to madness!” Vega complains.

“Stop your incessant whining!” Sagat yells as he kicks Vega.

“Hey! You’ll pay for that!” Vega responds with a kick of his own.

Then Bison enters the room. His red general suit with a cape flowing behind him only adds to his aura of anger.

“I thought I told you to never fight amongst yourselves!” he yells as he punches both fighters across the room.

“Lord Bison, they didn’t mean nothing,” Balrog tells him.

“Silence, wretch!” Bison tells him as he throws him against Sagat and Vega.

“Listen, this is no time for dissension. The tournament is less than a month away, you must all train hard for failure means death, even to you. Cammy!” Bison yells.

A short, blond woman with pigtails enters the room.

“Yes, Lord Bison,” she asks mechanically.

“I want you to find the one named Ryu, take Juli and Juni with you,” Bison tells her.

“Yes, Lord Bison,” she responds.

Bison teleports away…

“Ugh, I’m becoming weak again…Ryu! You must be my next host body! With you, I will not be limited by such a cumbersome body again! Ugh, need more psycho power…” Bison rants as he walks slowly to the psycho drive. He enters and very slowly replenishes his power.

On a deserted island…

”Hmph! So, the old man too? Excellent, how will he fare against the supreme master of the fist?” Akuma thinks to himself.

*STOMP!*

Akuma’s earth-shattering stomp crushes the ground beneath him.

“It’s time…Ashura Senku!” With that, Akuma teleports to Japan.

China…

The two wounded fighters make it back to Gen’s dojo the next day. Fei feels good enough to train though wounded. Chun-li, however, must have her leg in a cast and must remain in the bed for three days.

Ding Dong

“I’ll get it,” Fei says.

Shhhk (opening of the typical sliding oriental doors).

*THUD*

Gen runs over toward the sound.

“Fei, what’s the problem?” Gen concernedly asks.

”Ohayo gozaimasu (good morning), Gen-sama (sama and gozaimasu are terms of respect with no direct translation),” the two warriors greet the Grand Master.

“Oh! It’s you two! Well, I should’ve expected Gouken’s star pupils to be able to rival my own.” Gen tells them.

“Come in and sit down. You’ve already met Fei and Chun-li, haven’t you?” Gen asks them.

“Uh, hai,” Ryu replies, a bit nervously.

“That’s the reason we’re here, Grand Master Gen. We decided to offer our condolences and also to see if we can make amends before we train for the street fighter tournament,” Ken explains.

“Yes, yes. I heard about that, we are also invited. Very well, in order to make reparations, you must train with us,” Gen suggests.

“We would be honored to…sifu,” Ryu agrees.

*I wonder where I can find something to eat* Ryu wanders around the house and into the room where Chun-li is lying down.

“You! Get OUT of my room, NOW!” She yells while throwing various objects at him.

“Go! Whoa! Men! Yikes! Naaaa! OOF! Sai…”Ryu tries to apologizes while being bombarded with furniture and anything Chun-li can get her hands on. Ryu crawls out of the room, trying to avoid her wrath. As Ryu is about to open the door, Ken suddenly slams it open, hitting Ryu on the head.

“Ryu! Where are you!…GULP!” Ken nervously backs away from door as he sees Ryu badly beaten up and Chun-li with several objects ready to throw in her hand.

“Er…sorrybuddyyou’rehandlingthisoneonyourownbye!” Ken immediately runs back and slams the door behind him.

As Ryu tries to get up, Chun-li pelts him with more stuff (she has a lot of stuff ^_^).

“This is going to be a long week…” Ryu says as he is being pummeled into the ground by various objects.

Five days later…

“HYAAA!” Ken’s kiyai cry fills the air as he spars against Fei-Long, who has completely recovered.

“WA-CHAAA!” Fei runs in and they both begin sparring.

Gen looks over the fights and then turns his attention to the spar between Chun-li and Ryu.
