Scary Story Ch. 1

13 years later…

It was a beautiful day, the sky is clear, no clouds hanging around, and the wind is warm, indicating the summer has come to the small city called Smallville. The birds are chirping cheerfully that morning, as if there was a chirping competition among the birds. The signs of grass and plants growing are everywhere.

A girl, about nineteen years old, beautiful both her Chinese face and body, wearing a set of light blue training suits, is having her morning exercise in the garden. Sweats are beginning to show and trickle, but her breathing stays normal. A set of earphones is plug into his ears, sending out rock ‘n roll music into her ears, isolating her from outside world, unaware of somebody is walking silently behind her.

She feels a tap on her shoulder and shrieks. She takes off her earphone, turns around, and lets go a breath of relief. “Ryu, how many time I told you not to sneak on me like that ?”

The boy, about the same age as her, smiles sheepishly. “Sorry, I was not intend to sneak on you.” Ryu is Japanese, yet he is tall and muscular, almost looks like Arnold Schwartschneger. He gives the girl a hug and kisses her on the lips, a ritual morning kiss for them before they exercise together. “Next time, turn the music a bit lower.”

Chun Li, the girl, grins playfully. She shoves Ryu softly on his chest and frowns. “You’re late.”

Ryu smiles. “No, I’m not. It’s you who were too early.”

She sticks out her tongue. “Men, always the same, not wanting to admit their mistake.”

“You shouldn’t prejudice like that.” – Ryu.

“Oh yeah, and what are you going to do if I do ?” – Chun Li grins.

“I will…” – Ryu sets his serious face and closes his eyes. “… tickle you ‘till you drop !” He moves forward, attempting to grab Chun Li.

She quickly moves back and runs to the fence. She jumps over it and again, sticks her tongue out. “Nice try, but you have to be faster to catch me.” She quickly runs as Ryu begins to get closer.

They run to the park, Ryu chasing Chun Li. As they reach the park, Ryu begins to increases his speed and manages to catches Chun Li. They roll on the ground a couple of times. When they stops rolling, Ryu is on top of Chun Li. He begins to tickle her mercilessly. “Give up ?” – Ryu.

“Never !” – Chun Li as she laughs and tries to tickle back.

They keep going for almost a minute, then Chun Li shouts – in the middle of her laugh – “Okay, okay, I give !!”

Ryu stops tickling her. He locked his gaze onto her eyes and moves toward her to kiss her. Suddenly, when they were about to kiss, Chun Li topples him over. She places both her knees on Ryu’s elbows and sits on his belly, making him unable to move. Then, she begins her revenge, tickles mercilessly.

“Give up ?” – Chun Li.

Ryu, being unable to move, can only surrender as quickly as he can. “You, my love, is a sneaky one.” – He playfully taps her nose.

Chun Li chuckles. “You just found out ?”

“Not really.” – Ryu.

They laugh loudly, then kiss.

Two hours later…

They walk back to Chun Li house, laughing, joking, and chatting. When they reach her house, Chun Li sees that there is a box sitting near the gate. The box is brown, and it’s quite big, about the size of a fourteen-inch TV. She takes the box and feels something wet and kind of sticky on the bottom at the box. She feels curious, places the box down again, and opens the box.

She screams.

Inside the box, is her favorite pet dog in a bloody mess, there are three icebreakers planted deep inside the dog. There is a writing inside the box’s top cover ‘I’M COMING TO GET YOU’.
