Bad Dreams Ch. 10

Two red bloodshot eyes fixed on her and Chun Li froze. She felt like a deer caught in a car's headlights. She stared at the twin red orbs and something made her uneasy. This was truly a tortured soul.

Ryu took another step toward her and spoke in a whispered murmer.

"Bison..."

Chun Li heard it and pondered.

~Bison? That's what I thought I heard him call Ken. He must be so messed up in the head that he thinks we're Bison. Maybe that's what he really sees. It would explain why everything around here is destroyed. He must have seen Bison in the place of a tree or in the place of his dojo.~

Ryu took another step toward her and a cracked stone crumbled underneath his foot. His hands opened and closed in anticipation as he drew nearer to her.

~Only Ken can help him now. He knows Ryu the best.~

Chun Li looked down the ruined stairwell at Ken and Guile. They were starting to rouse themselves.

~Good. Need to get him far enough away so that all of us can get him at once. Need to distract him until Ken get's here and can put some sense into him.~

Ryu gritted his teeth and clenched his fists again. He was tired of Bison walking away. He wanted to get it over with. All he wanted was for Bison to leave him alone.

"Go..away..."

Chun Li took a few more steps back up the stairway as he started taking the steps two at a time. His eyes were smouldering. She knew he would do something soon.

~He may be good, but he clearly isn't thinking rationally. Ken and Guile would take it easy on this b*st*rd, they know him, but I won't~

Ryu gritted his teeth and launched himself at Chun Li leading with a bloody knuckled fist. Chun Li turned and blocked the powerful blow and executed a spinning cresant kick that whipped Ryu's head to the side. She kicked him repeatedly with her Lightening Kick and even as she stopped it she gathered great amounts of chi for another strike.

She leaned back and raised her hands above her head as a bright blue ball shone in her palms.

"KI..."

"Ko..."

"SHOU..."

"...shinkuu..."

Whatever came next was drowned out by the impact of Ryu's feet hitting her several times in one second. The onslaught continued and Chun Li tried in vain to back away, but she knew it was useless. Ken had told her of the powerful vacuum the Shinku Tatsumakisenpukyaku caused.

His feet continued to pound her until the final kick sent her into a wooden post that held the now shattered railing. It shifted in the ground beneath her and her head slammed against it painfully.

Ryuspun to the ground and his head snapped up as he headed towards her once again. Chun Li tried to stand and prepare herself. Ryu grabbed her in a front headlock and took the opportunity of her position to pound her with his knees. Chun Li tried to cover her face with her hands and wait for an oppourtunity to escape his strong hold.

"SNAP!"

Ryu let go of her and turned around. Chun Li stumbled to the ground and saw Guile standing there with a shattered wooden pole he had snapped over Ryu's head. Guile looked surprised and Ryu grabbed his neck. Chun Li saw Ken rush up to the two and sighed in relief, maybe now they could take him down.
