Outbreak Ch. 18 (Part 2)
By Kat

After a few hours the captin of the plane announced that they were in Japan, and that they should be landing in about 45 min. Chun-li looked out side her window and noticed the tiny islands that were sticking up from the water. The biggest island of them all drew her attention though. Chun-li didn't know why but she had a terrible feeling about it. It just seemed to have an…evil about it. Wayne looked up from his magazine and looked out the window as well.

"That big island right there…that's called Gokuentou. I've heard some pretty weird things about that place", he said. Chun-li turned her head and looked at him. "Like what" she said giving him her full attention. "You know… stuff… like there's this guy who lives there and… never mind… it's probably not even true", he said going back to his magazine. Chun-li turned and looked back at the island they were passing over. She had no idea why…but that place gave her the creeps……

On the island of Gokuentou…

A lone figure with a gi black as night and eyes red like the fires in h*ll sat on the forest floor meditating. His eyes were closed and he was sitting Indian style. His breathing was so steady that it seemed like he wasn't breathing at all. He had been that way for hours…sitting in the exact same position in the forest. Until all of a sudden his eyes snapped open. He didn't move immediately…instead just sat there as still as death. Then he finally stood up standing his full height. He looked around the forest with his eyes as if looking for something…or someone. The reason he disrupted his concentration on meditating was because he felt a strong aura somewhere near. After observing a while longer he concluded that no one was on the island with him. But where was that power coming from he asked himself.

Then something caused him to look in the sky. An airplane was passing over the island. And when he concentrated he realized that the power he had felt was coming from someone on the plane.

"Interesting ", he mumbled to himself. This would cause some investigation.

A Car Rental Place near the airport…

"We have a nice Porsche up for grabs too. It's a new model", said a lady with a blue suit on. Chun-li narrowed her eyes in anger. Annoyance and frustration swirled in their blue depths. Chun-li rhythmically clenched and unclench her hands. "Maybe you didn't hear me the first couple of hundred times I told you", she said, "I want that truck right there…the black Durango". All Chun-li wanted to do was purchase a rental truck and be on her merry way. But the sales clerk wasn't making it easy. Instead of giving Chun-li the truck she wanted…the clerk tried to show her all the most expensive cars they had to offer. Chun-li's patience was wearing thin. Real thin. Which bothered her too. She was usually a patient person. Master Gen had taught her that virtue.

So why was she losing her temper?

The clerk looked at Chun-li, the truck then at Chun-li again. "Even thought that's the most expensive…er…um…I mean the most favorable truck we have…wouldn't you rather cruise the streets in style? I mean the truck does have it's luxuries…CD player…all wheel drive…tinted windows…real leather seats…a TV…a phone…surround sound…and more. But wouldn't you like to rent something that will have people saying oh's and ah's? Here we have a Benz…it's a later model…2000 I think so it's sure to be-"

Whatever thin line of patience Chun-li was holding on to for the woman's sake snapped. Grabbing the lady by the collar Chun-li silenced whatever ramblings that she was talking about. She pulled the lady to her…then lifted her so that they were at eye level. When Chun-li finally spoke.

"Listen you bubbly little smurf…I told you what I wanted when I got here…but instead of you happily taking money and giving me the truck you had to give me a tour of this whole freakin place. Now listen to me and listen well cause I would REALLY hate it if I would have to repeat myself one more time. I don't want your d*mn Porsche…I don't want your d*mn Benz…I WANT that Black Durango right over there!! So go over to your little desk and get the papers necessary so I can sign…pay…and get the h*ll out of here!" Chun-li said harshly. She dropped the woman and released her all together. The woman stood in shock for a few more minutes then hurried behind her desk and ruffled through the papers in a hurry.

After what seemed like ages Chun-li finally walked out of the building with the car keys in hand. She walked over to her new rented truck and started putting in her luggage. Before she got in the truck though she noticed a small crowd a few yards away. Wanting to be nosy she walked over to them. She then saw that there was a fight going on. Some people let her through so she got in the middle. In the mist of the crowd two men were sizing each up. "Is this a street fight", she asked a man beside her. He turned to her and shook his head no. "Yeah you could say that. See that fat guy", he said pointing. Chun-li nodded when she saw the 200 pounder in sweats and a white T-shirt. "That's Terrence Bjork. He's the street champion so far. No one has been able to beat him.", said the man. "Is that so", Chun-li said. Terrence picked up the small boy on body slammed him on the ground. When the boy didn't get up the referee (who was a teenaged boy) announced the winner. "Is he any good", Chun-li asked. "Not really… he relies on brute strength", said the man. "Is he accepting challenges", Chun-li asked. The man beside her turned and looked at her wide-eyed. "Y-you wanna challenge him? Not to be rude or anything but do you think that is wise?" he asked. "I can take care of my self", was all Chun-li said.

"Is there anyone else who wants to challenge the great Terrence", he asked puffing up his chest. The crowd immediately hushed. "I will", Chun-li said stepping forward. Terrence turned around to see Chun-li. There were a lot of spectators voicing their opinions about the challenge. "You wanna fight me beautiful"? asked Terrence. He put a finger up to his chin and studied Chun-li. Chun-li simply rolled her eyes and said "Yeah". Terrence laughed a bit before accepting. "I promises I won't aim at your pretty face sugar", he said. Chun-li only got into a fighting stance. Then, with a roar Terrence charged her.

'What is he doing', Chun-li asked herself. He must be an amateur she concluded. Terrence balled up his fist and aimed it at Chun-li's ribs. She blocked it and hit him dead in the nose. He yelped and stumbled back…Chun-li took this time to swipe him off his feet. He slowly got back up and charged her again.

'Will they ever learn' she thought. She did a roundhouse kick that connected with his jaw. He stumbled back again and Chun-li thought of firing off a Kikoken. She brought her palms together and charged it up. She heard a lot of gasps from the crowd but didn't break her concentration. When she felt that she gathered enough energy she tried to release it.

Except it wouldn't. The ball of energy kept growing and growing in her hands. Soon the ball of energy was almost as big as her upper body. Terrence upon seeing this…fainted. His heavy body fell to the ground with an audible thud. Seeing this Chun-li let the ball of energy she had collected go. It disappeared in thin air. She looked at her hand in shock. She never created a ball that big before. The crowd was silent for a moment then burst out in cheers. Chun-li smiled and nodded her head in thanks. She went back to her truck and headed off to where Ryu was sure to be at.

What Chun-li didn't notice was a lone figure in the shadows watching her every move. "So Chun-li…you have obtain some power I see…very interesting indeed………….."
