Untitled Ch. 15 (Part 1)

Chun-li pulled up to the dojo and got out of her car, wrapped up swords in
hand. She went straight to Gen's office and went in without knocking. Gen
turned his attention from signing some papers and looked at her. Chun-li set
the wrapped up swords in front of him and unfolded them. The blades shimmered
in the light. Chun-li then sat down in the chair. Gen looked at the swords then
at her. "They're beautiful," he said.
Chun-li nodded in agreement. "So…what are you going to do with
them", Gen asked sitting back in his chair. Chun-li eyed the twin
masterpieces then spoke. "I don't know…probably lock them up some-"
Chun-li started but was cut off.
"And what…let them go to waste", asked Gen raising an eyebrow.
Chun-li frowned a bit. "What do you suggest then?" she asked.
"Well…you could try practicing with them. Possibly merging them in your
fighting style", suggested Gen. "What…you mean as weapons? No offence
Sifu…but I prefer to fight hand to hand combat. Using a weapon in a fight…to
me…would make a person seem weak. I wouldn't want to become dependent on them
Weapons just aren't my style" said Chun-li.
Gen raised a challenging eyebrow. "What do you call your spike
bracelets then". Chun-li gaped at him. "I do not use my bracelets as
weapons". "You don't? So you seem to have forgotten your fight with
Kile at the last tournament". Chun-li immediately closed her mouth and
lowered her eyes. She couldn't help it. Kile had had her by the neck choking
her. She began to feel lightheaded so she used her bracelets in defense. She
swung her are and dug the spikes in his forearm so he would let her go. Which
he did after screaming like a little baby. "T-That was in
self-defense" she mumbled. "Maybe…but you used them did you not"
he said. "Just try them out…even if you choose not to fight with them…I'm
sure your mother would have still wanted you to put them to good use." he
said returning to signing some papers. "Okay", she said standing up
and re wrapping the swords. Gen looked up at her. "Where are you
going", he asked.
"Home…I'm going to fix dinner…maybe test the swords out a little…then
get some sleep." she said turning to walk out the door.
"Chun-li…maybe that isn't a good idea. Testing out the swords I mean. I
still haven't told you a lot about the swords. There is still so much that you
need to know." He said. Chun-li turned around to face him. "Don't
worry Sifu, I'm coming by here in the morning. You can tell me tomorrow. I'm
really tired", she said. Against his better judgement Gen nodded. Chun-li
smiled and walked out the door.
