Following the events that transpired at the Interpol offices and at the hospital, Chun Li's superiors had placed her on sick leave for about a week from Interpol until she recovered. Of course, Chun Li would much rather work, but orders were orders.

She was still trying to figure out what had happened the day before. The last thing she remembered was that she was working at Interpol right before she passed out. She had assumed that it was just exhaustion, but the way that Ryu was acting made her suspect that he was hiding something from her.

While Chun Li was asleep, Ryu and Miya were in the dojo. Ryu was leaning against the door, lost in thought while Miya was praticing with her Muramasa sword.

"So how's Chun Li doing?" Miya asked as she went through one of the more complex katas she had learned.

"So far...good," Ryu replied. "But for how long?"

"So she has the Dark Hadou, huh?" Miya asked. "I thought only those with Ansatsuken-based training can use it. How can Chun Li have the Dark Hadou?"

"Because when we were younger," Ryu replied, "I taught her Ansatsuken-based ki manipulation techniques. But it doesn't make any sense, Miya. Before I began to study the dark side of Ansatsuken, I only knew of the nonlethal part of the style."

He tried to tell himself that it was something else, but it wasn't. Chun Li had the Evil Intent.

While travelling the world Ryu had pushed himself to his limits to try and expel the Dark Hadou, but to no avail. He didn't want to end up like Akuma, a demon. During his travels, he encountered the fortuneteller Rose, who known about his dillema. After reading her Tarot cards, she had told him that--much to his relief--that he would not end up like Akuma, but the Dark Hadou would remain. Rather than the evil ki owuld feed off of him, Ryu could control the Dark Hadou, to make it bend to his will.

He then began to study the dark form of Ansatsuken, making serious modifications to several of the moves, including the ultimate killing technique: the Instant Hell Murder. The serious modification that he had made was how to deliver the fifteen blows. Rather than hitting the 15 vital points that would surely kill an opponent, he did exactly the opposite. With the help of Gouken's notes on the lethal form of Ansatsuken, Ryu modified the technique so that the move would incapacitete the opponent by hitting 15 of their pressure points, leaving them completely stunned, but alive.

Like Ryu, Miya also had the Dark Hadou, only it had merged with the Psycho Power inside of her. Miya called her dark powers, the 'Saiko no Hadou,' or 'Psycho Hadou.' It was mainly because that while in Shadowlaw, Miya had became interested in her brother's fighting style and using the combat data, Miya began to train herself in Ansatsuken.

"So the dark side of Ansatsuken draws on the person's hate, rage and anger, right?" Miya asked. "Kinda like the Darkside of the Force from 'Star Wars.'"

"Yeah," Ryu snorted, "minus the Force-choking and Force lightning."

Miya lowered her sword. "Remember you told me after you killed Akuma, you were in the Dark Hadou for a time?"

"What about it?"

"Well, back when I was in Shadowlaw, I was self-teaching myself in the art of Ansatsuken. When I had to go for my usual Psycho Power therapy, it triggered my own Dark Hadou and I ended up going on a killing spree inside Shadowlaw HQ. It took Sagat and Bison to stop me from doing anymore damage. So what do you plan on doing with Chun Li?"

"Well," Ryu began. "I don't know if I'm responsible or not. Otherwise, she'd kill me if I told her." Then a thought came to him. "Wait a minute...Master Gen."

Miya blinked. "Master Gen? You mean that old Chinese man in the robes?"

Ryu nodded. "Yeah. You saw him at the wedding. But you never did get a chance to meet him."

"What does he have to do with Chun Li?"

"Gen is Chun Li's teacher. He taught her Kempo and Wushu. He is also a retired assassin who was friends with Chun's late father. If I remember correctly, he's in Japan, visiting the natural hot springs here. Hakone, if I'm not mistaken, which means that he's real close. I'll call and leave a message to him, and see if he can come and help me deal with this matter."

"Are you sure that Gen can help us with Chun Li?" Miya asked.

"I'm positive," Ryu replied.

"What makes the Shungokusatsu dangerous if one uses it? I don't get it?" Miya said. "You always told me that it was a dangerous move to perform. Tell me why?"

"According to Gouken," Ryu began, "during the Instant Hell Murder, the person performing the move must strike fifteen of the body's most vital points, the final blow killing them. Without the final blow, the other fourteen blows mean nothing. The only way to defend against it is by clearing your mind of all desire, guilt, hatred, and anger. That's how I managed to survive it when I fought against Akuma."

Miya swallowed. Ryu saw that Miya wasn't planning on using the move anytime soon, which was a good thing.

"That's why Gouken didn't allow the move when he taught both me and Ken," Ryu continued. "Gouki Akuma, thought that both Gouken and Gotetsu were fools in forbidding the final killing technique. He believed that one should win, no matter what the cost."

"Even if it means to kill or be killed," Miya finished.

Ryu nodded. "Exactly, Miya. I know Gen and he won't refuse a request from me. That and the fact that Chun Li was Gen's top pupil in the martial arts." He turned and walked out of the dojo. He wasn't going to give up Chun Li without a fight.
