The Quest - Book 1 Ch. 26

Ryu and his friends looked and saw the Tarrasque had its back to them. Ryu raised a brow "Is that Shadowbane?" He asked out loud.

They nodded and looked in awe. Shadowbane stood looking tiny near the beast. It shot fire at him. He raised his hands. A green shield protected him.

He lept into the air with great speed and force. He nailed the creature's chin. Then he descended with a hammer blow to its skull. The creature fell to its knees from the force of the blow.

Shadowbane landed. The creature swiped its hand. Shadowbane was hit and flung with great force into the mountain.

"That had to hurt" Ken said Shadowbane rose to his feet immeadiatly. As if unharmed at all. He thrusted his hand forward. His body was covered with white lightning and his eyes glew in white. He shot a thunder huge bolt at the beast.

The beast fell to it back from impact.Its chest was burned and bleeding. Its fall shook the earth and mountains causing a shower of huge boulders to fall down,They were about to hit Shadowbane. He looked at the boulders. His eyes glew in blue. A faint aura surrounded the stone and they stood still levitating in midair.

The Tarrasque rose to its feet. Shadowbane pointed at the Tarrasque and the boulders flew at it hitting it again. It screamed in pain as the boulders hit its tortured chest. Shadowbane closed his fists and his eyes glew in bright green. His fists were covered with green energy.

He thrusted both hands forward. A huge beam of green energy flew from his hands. The beam hit The Tarrasque's chest. The beast growled in pain and hunched onto its massive knees.The group was shocked at the power Shadowbane was showing.

"I never knew Shadowbane was so powerful." Ryu said in awe. Chunli nodded "He beat that beast with no effort at all"

Shadowbane lept and the Soul Reaver appeared in his hand. He lept and slashed. He sliced the beast's throat open. It cut easily.

Gallons of blood spilled from the wound. The beast fell to its back dead. Shadowbane stood on its corpse, He held his chest and looked at the sky. Green energy came out of the beasts corpse. The power so pure and voilent it blinded the group.

Shadowbane screamed. "The Soul power so powerful. I fell better ,stronger Like I can take on anyone right know"

The surge stopped and the group saw Shadowbane. He was on his knees holding his chest. His laughter was heard. He rose to his feet. He stood in his human form. But he was taller at least 8 feet his muscles bigger. His skin totally black and seemingly metalic.

His eyes glew in bright green no longer looking human. Raw power dancing within them. Shadowbane walked towards them. He stood looming above them. He grinned "There are some things even you can't defeat. So lets say I gave you a hand" Shadowbane said.

Ryu and the others were amazed and had nothing to say after the feat Shadowbane had just done. "Do you have the stone?" He asked. Mel nodded Shadowbane snapped his fingers. "This is your final test fot this world. Put the stone on the pedistal and this world will be safe and the scepter peice will appear and the next portal shall appear"

Ryu asked "Whats the catch?" Shadowbane shrugged "You must pass the maze and the guardians of the labyrinth." Derek asked "And?" Shadowbane looked at him "No mortal has ever succeed in surviving till this day. But worry not I have faith in your skills"

Shadowbane walked away. Blue energy surrounded him and he disappeared. Ryu stopped the group "Wait what about Guile's body? We can't leave it here" Derek answered "I told one of my men to cover the body and take it to the citidal and not bury it until I tell him" Ryu nodded "Lets go then"

They stepped threw the portal

BACK IN DELCRATOR

A wounded Raziel spoke to a figure. The figure was with his back to Raziel It was in the shadows so It wasn't clear who it was.

"Have you succeeded?" The figure asked. Raziel bowed "Affirmitive mi'lord". The figure laughed "Excellent Soon Shadowbane will fall before us and the mortal realm will be ours for the taking" The figure said.

Then he and Raziel laughed in an evil crazed tone.
