The Quest: Book 1 Ch. 11

Both groups walked threw the tunnels. ten minutes later both tunnels connected into a large cavern.

"Hey you guys o.k?" Ken asked as he ran towards the group. "Except Ryu were only a little scrathced and bruised" They looked at Ryu.

He was limping. His armor was stained with blood and his shoulder and area around it totally cut open. His hair was also stained with blood and he had a nasty cut on his head.

The cavern was huge. Their was a huge pool in he middle. and on a pedastel stood a blue stone. "How are we going to get that" Guile asked.

Ryu whispered weakly "I sense an evil power in the water" The others turned to him.

Ryu stood straight. His feet shook a bit but he remained standing. "We need some kind of diversion to lure the creature out. I know Mariko,Mel,Ken shoot Hadokens into the water. The electricity would lure it from the depths of the pool.

They nodded and cupped their hands. They all shot Hadokens Mariko's and Mel's were smaller then Ken's.

They hit the water and electricity passed threw the water. A cry boomed threw the cavern. Bubbles appeared in on the surface of the water.

A scalled man emerged out of the water. He was blue scalled he had a large fin in his back. His fingers were duck webbed.and his fingers were clawed.

He had sharp teeth and glowing red eyes. "I've been expecting you Mortalssss. I bet my brother Shadowbane wasn't expecting my appearance."

He jumped out of the water. "You're are too weak to fight give up your souls ands avoid unessacary conflict." The group were truly tired and couldn't stand another fight but weren't about to give up.

He lunged at Chunli. She blocked and kicked his abdomen. Then she nailed him with a Tensou kayku. He fell on his back and rubbed his mouth

"You're a spunky one. I hate spunk" He shout a lightning bolt at her. She was hit and fell to the ground. He was about to stomp her when he sensed a energy projectile approach him.

He ducked and then lunged and tackled Guile. He punched him and Guile crashed into Guy and they fell limp after crashing into the wall.

Dan and Ken both kicked and punched at him. He jumped over them. He shot two beams at them. from his palms. They cried as they fell limp.

Mel and Mariko approached. The vampire approached Mariko and swiped. She blocked and caught his hand.

Mel kicked his face. and hurricane kicked him. When Mel landed he lept aside and Mariko hit him with a Fire Dragon Elbow.

The vampire was flung backwards. He got up quickly and then raised his hands. and two waves of water hit their chests.

Then he kicked Mariko's face and Grabbed her by the neck. Ryu channeled his Chi kicked the vampire. "Ryu don't" Chunli yelled .

Ryu kicked the vampire's ribs then he kicked his knee and roundhoused the vampire. Chunli came to Ruy's aid and hit the vampire with a spinning bird kick.

The vampire growled in frustration. "I see why my brother chose you" Brad and Derek lunged with their respected weapons.

The vampire jumped backwards. He slammed his fists into the ground and water from the pool flooded the room and then turned to ice. locking them in ice.

They were rendered uncontious and imobile. He approached them intending to finish them off. A green flash boomed threw the room Shadowbane appeared blocking The vampire's path.

"Leave the mortals alone Tural" Shadowbane said coldly. The vampire smiled "Brother Why do you choose that ridiculous human form?"

Shadowbane turned to his true form "What are you doing here Tural?Why aren't you back on Delcrator?"

The vampire laughed "Are anscestor has returned brother. Kain has retaken the control over the clans. Join us in the destruction of the mortals." He said

Shadowbane crossed his arms. "What of father and mother?" Shadowbane asked. The vampire grimanced "They were weak so that made them useless so I got rid of them"

Shadowbane was wide eyed "What?" The vampire smiled "So which side do you choose the mortal's or your kin's?"

Shadowbane exhaled "Tural leave this place now. I am loosing my patience and I don't wish to add another sin to my soul"

Tural laughed "Don't make me laugh You will find out my powers have grown since last time we met. You refuse to join us therefor you are a traitor and must be destroyed in Kain's name."

Tural lunged and swung his fist. Shadowbane dodjed and took his distance. Tural kicked and Shadowbane swatted it.

Shadowbane spoke threw clenched teeth "Leave now I don't wan't to harm you" Tural laughed "As long as I live no mortal is safe I'll destroy them in our master's name."

Shadowbane grimanced "You leave me no choice" Shadowbane entered stance. Tural punched.Shadowbane swatted the punch and kicked his face then he grabbed his arm and threw him into the wall.

Tural slumped to the floor. He raised a hand and shot a lightning bolt at Shadowbane. Shadowbane blocked the bolt with his hand and shot one of his own.

It shocked Tural. Tural was coughing and was already weak from fighting the street fighters.

Shadowbane loomed above him "I don't want to hurt you please turn away" Tural spat at his feet. "You are a traitor I'm ashamed to call you brother. Be happy with your mortals You'll never be welcomed amongs us again Shadowbane". The last words were said in a venomous tone.

Shadowbane eyes were full of tears. The words stung and hurt him deeply. His younger brother that he helped raise was now trying to kill him.

"Brother please be reasonable" Shadowbane pleaded Tural slashed with his claws forward. Shadowbane dodjed and summoned the soul reaver

He stabbed his brother "I'm sorry brother I have no choice I've pledged to redeem myself at any cost. I never dreamt I'd have to kill my brother" The last words were choked with tears.

Tural coughed "Why? Why turn on us brother? Nevermind curse you Kain the second to enernal d*mnation along with your precious mortals"

Then he closed his eyes and died.His soul entered Shadowbane after he killed his brother with the soul reaver. Shadowbane dropped the reaver it vanished. He was crying he held his brother's still form.

"Why must I suffer all the time. D*mn you Kain for giving me life in the first place. Why must all I care for die because of me?" He screamed the cavern shook the ice around the fighters cracked but didn't break.

Shadowbane took his brother's body and put it in the pool. "Rest in peace dear Brother" He took the stone from the pedastel and put it near the street fighters. "He opened a portal and they appeared outside. Shadowbane left for the woods he wasn't in the mood for talking.

He snapped his fingers when he was far from them and the ice around them shattered. He walked deep into the woods his eyes full of tears.
