The Quest: Book 1 Ch. 10

Shadowbane saw the turn in events. He rubbed his chin and then his eyes glowed in gold. Suddenly time stopped flowing.

"I must think. Should I continue my original plan or not? I can't decide." He shook his head and growled.

He looked at the globe again. He saw Chunli's and Mariko's face. He remembered his feelings as he saw his wife and child dead.

Once again I must give up to compassion. I can't let these mortals suffer as I have. I must save them I've brought them here and their my responsibilty."

Shadowbane shook his head. "I now I'll regret this later"

His eyes glew in green and time flew again. Shadowbane shot a blue beam from his hand at the globe.

MEANWHILE IN THE TEMPLE OF WATER

Ryu was falling. He muttered an apology to Chunli. Then he figured out he was floating in midair. Ryu opened his eyes. He was covered in a blue aura.Above him a globe showed him Shadowbane's face smiling before it disappeared. He was then picked up and put back on the ledge."I wonder Why he helped me?" Ryu thought but then ignored it and went to help Chunli and the others

Meanwhile Chunli and the others turned around. They went wide eyed. Brad mumbled "D..D.D.DD..DRAGON!!!" before them stood a huge blue dragon. It had horns and claws. large wings it had a long tail and a mouth full of sharp teeth.

It swiped its hand at the group. They scattered and dodjed. Mariko jumped and kicked the dragon. A laugh was heard and its tail slammed into Mariko. She crashed into the wall. Mel jumped on the dragon's neck and tried to choke the dragon.

The dragon eyes glew in blue. Mel was covered with blue energy he was flung off the dragon. Mel coughed and choked the energy was cold and freezed the air in his lungs.

Chunli kicked the dragon's face. The dragon's head reeled backwards. The dragon opened its mouth and blew a cone of cold air. Chunli was flung backward onto the wall. She was frozen in place her limbs stopped reacting.

The dragon was about to slash her but Brad just swung its axe at the dragon's back. The dragon turned around and growled and slashed Brad's chest. Brad managed to back away and saved himself from death.

Guy and Guile took out the weapons Shadowbane gave them and struck at the dragon. They hurt the dragon by stabbing its ribcage and slashing its wing.

The dragon swiped its tail and pushed them away. It approached them and was about to eat them its sharp teeth shone in pearly white in the light from the torches.

They gulped then the dragon cried out in pain and the shout of "Hadoken" was heard.

Everyone turned and saw Ryu standing. His shoulder was cut open and bleeding badly. He had a blood covered sword strapped to his waist.

His entire body was covered with red water. It was a mix of his and the shark's blood. The dragon growled and sent its head forward trying to bite the weakened Ryu.

Ryu ducked and muttered "Shin" then he was covered with blue flames he lept upwards his fist smashing the dragon's skull with it chi force.

The blue fire evaporated the dragon and Ryu fell to his knees in exhaution. They ran and surrounded him "Are you O.K?" They all asked.

Ryu nodded but when he tried to stand he fell and they catched him. "Wow take it easy Ryu we got ya" Guy said.

Chunli and Guy held him each from one arm. They helped him walk. He could barely move from his weakness and dizzyness from his head and shoulder injury. They walked threw a tunnel that opened in front of them.

MEANWHILE DOWN THE OTHER TUNNEL

Ken and the others looked nervously as the walls approached them. they all backed to the wall and invainly tried to stop its movement.

Baltazar tried to use telekensis to stop the wall. But the walls continued moving. An explosion was heard. They all turned to see where it came from and saw a scroll glowing in green.

Baltazar picked it up and read it.

"Listen mortals I'll help you.

Don't ask quetions just read these words and point at the exit". Then there were written a chain of wierd words. Baltazar read them a little awkwardly but succeed.

Baltazar felt the very air burned in heat. A huge ball of dense energy amassed before his finger. The amount of oxygen in the room lessened by the second.

Then the fireball launched forwards. It smacked into the wall and melted a huge hole in it. Then the scroll vanished in a green flash.

The others didn't ask any questions. They lept out of the room and started walking threw the tunnel behind it.
