Shin-Dan Ch.11 Battle of Supremacy

The two dark warriors began with each other's super fireball. Dan was knocked back from trying to deflect Akuma's fireball. Akuma grunted in responce. " HMPH! You obviously don't realize this is a bout you CANNOT win..." Dan laughed scornfully. " Oh, that so? We'll see, when you are on the ground, broken and spitting up your insides..." Dan rushed Akuma, and burst into an array of three straight Dan-Ku-Kyaku's. Akuma blocked several of the flurry hits, but was caught on the final three. Akuma rolled backwards, and quickly regained his stance. Dan laughed. " You're becoming slow, old man..." Akuma's eyes burned with a fearful red glow. Akuma then warped toward Dan and went past him. Dan, realizing the danger, somersaulted backwards, and smacked Akuma with another Gadouken, this time, right in the face! "ARRRGGHH!" Akuma let out a roar, mostly oout of frustration. Dan saw an oppurtunity, and hit him with another Gadouken. Akuma this time lunged at Dan immediately after Dan hit him, and raised him high with an uppercut to the gut. Dan hit the floor with an audible thud. Akuma, noticing Dan not moving, began to converge on his fallen opponent. Dan saw his chance! "HA!" Dan rose to his feet, and uppercut Akuma high into the air! Akuma, totally unprepared for the attack, hit the ground. He cursed himself for being so careless. " No need to curse, Akuma. I'll put you out of your misery soon enough..."

(Hotel in Japan)

" Okay, we are settled down now, right?" Ken asked the three. Ryu nodded. " I'm ready if you all are." Guy nodded his approval. " Let's do this..." They all put their hands in. " Let's GO!" Ken yelled enthusiastically. The four all left the hotel, and began their search for Dan.

(Akuma's cave)

Akuma was actually beginning to wear down from Dan's relentless assault. It almost seemed as if Dan was reading his moves ahead of time. A thought crept into Akuma's head: " Could it be that he now IS stronger than I???" Akuma quickly dismissed the crazy notion. He looked at Dan, who was taunted him with a raised fist. " Doshita-no, Akuma? Old age catching up to you? Or is it just MY newfound strength?"

" Your strength will be your undoing, you pitiful amateur." Akuma jumped into the air, firing off a Hadoken from each hand. Dan blocked the first one, and used a Gadouken to harmlessly dissapate the second. He laughed, a little prematurely... " Ha, Akuma! You can't be serious..." He then heard a loud boom, a eruption of power from overhead. He looked up, and was instantly smashed flat into the ground. Akuma hit him with his level three Tenma-Gou-Zankuu. Akuma smiled ruefully at Dan's expense. He landed on the ground, seeing the smoking crater he made around Dan's fallen form. " Hm. That should teach him exactly WHO the master of the dark arts is..." Akuma looked into the two-foot crater at Dan's lifeless body. " Hmph. Shoshii..." Akuma turned on his heels, and walked away..... " THAT....HURT." Akuma whirled around, genuinely amazed. Dan was on one knee, beginning to get up! " THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE!!!!" Akuma mouthed silently. Dan finally got up to his feet. " I'm not ready to die, Akuma. YOU, on the other hand, are long overdue..." Akuma roared out another furios wail. None of his attack were seemingly working against Dan. Whatever Akuma successfully did, Dan would still creep back...like a...like a pink rat, and just as annoying... " THAT'S IT, DAN! Akuma yelled to Dan. " DO YOU HONESTLY THINK YOU'RE THE STRONGEST OUT OF THE TWO OF US??? PROVE IT THEN!!!!!!" Dan knew EXACTLY what he was talking about. " I can do it this time around, Akuma. I'm focused, and I'm going insane. I'VE GOT NOTHING TO LOSE!!! HAHAHAHAHA!" Akuma scornfully looked at Dan. " He truly is going insane..." Akuma thought angrily. Dan's voice interrupted Akuma's thought. " Well?", Dan said tapping his foot. " We gonna' do this, or what?" " Ikuzo." Akuma focused his energy in Dan's direction. He slid toward Dan, disguising his Satsu in warp form. Dan could ALREADY tell what Akuma was up to. He concentrated also, and felt that unseen force surge him foward as well. When Dan got less than two feet away he stopped, surprising Akuma. Akuma kept on sliding. What Akuma didn't realize was Dan had a plan, and before he could counter-attack, he was attacked. All Akuma needed was two seconds... but that was all Dan needed. Akuma watched in dismay as Dan jumped up. He channeled his energy in mid-air. Akuma kept sliding. He couldn't slow the attack. Was Dan trying to imitate the Air fireball? No. He promptly landed behind Akuma, and Akuma knew what came next. Dan converged on Akuma in a blink of an eye. Dan whirled Akuma around, and performed Akuma's Instant Hell Murder. One, two, three hits. Dan could've sworn he heard Akuma say, " The irony. I, being killed by Dan Hibiki... I must accept my fate... that is, if he kills me..." Dan was reading Akuma's thoughts. He's not scared? Dan thought. He finally got near the end of his task. thirteen, fourteen, fifteen hits, the last aimed for the heart. A brilliant light from somewhere, pure energy streaked a ray inside the cave as Dan dropped Akuma's limp body to the ground. He noticed a shudder from Akuma's body, then sensed Akuma's inner chi slowly fade... Dan smiled evilly. " It is done... the battle for supremacy is over... AND I'M THE VICTOR!!!" Dan let out a victory cry that shook the walls of the cave.

(Meanwhile)

" I hope we aren't too late..." Ken said. The four warriors were in a helicopter. Chun-Li simply showed her Interpol badge, and the government authorities gave her access to the copter. " Okay, so we are looking for Dan in Akuma's cave, am I right?" Guy asked all three. " Yup. that's the long and short of it..." Ken said. Ryu hadn't said much since they left on their search. " Um, Ryu?" Ken said. " Something wrong?" " Yes. I'm feeling this strange new aura of power. I don't know if it's Akuma... it's much stronger. I wonder what it could be?...Or WHO could it be..." Chun-Li looked at Ryu, trying to understand what Ryu was getting at. " Are you telling me that Dan ki-"

" I can't say. But this power, it's really strong. I'm surprised none of you can sense it."

Ken pointed out into the dark night over the waters. " Well, we're gonna' find out what it is soon enough. There's the cave..."
