Shin-Dan Ch.1 It Begins Here...
By Dan
Dan was tired. He almost didn't feel like going on. He had been sparring with
the bushin warrior Guy for quite some time, with neither barring an inch. Dan
wasn't the most formidable fighter, but he was somewhat strong. Guy was nearly
a master at bushin: the precise training, the quickness and agility, he had
learned it all. " Ha! Dan, you look tired! maybe you should give up!
"
" Never!", Dan replied. He rushed Guy, and tried a Gadouken, but
he forgot it doesn't travel at all. Guy easily countered the small burst, and
attacked with a reverse Ho-zan-to. " HIYAAHH!!"
" Ooof!" Dan was socked in the chest. He tried to get up, and when
he did, Guy flipped, and with incredible timing, devastated Dan with a
backbreaker-type slam! " HA-HIYAHH!!!" He smahed Dan back into the
mat, knocking the wind out of him immediately. Ken, who was refereeing the
bout, ruled in Guy's favor. " Yeah! Dan, you should realized by now, you
can't beat what you can't touch!" Dan grumbled under his breath. He cursed
himself for attacking so weakly and not trying to parry the attack. Ken helped
him to his feet. " Man, Guy broke you down Dan. Hey! Guy, could you teach
me that one?" Guy, reaching for a towel, said flatly " No."
It was two hours later, about 5:00 in the afternoon. Dan was walking around
Ken's mansion. " I wish I could live like this..." BANG...CRASH!!!
Dan bumped into a coffee table and knocked a cup onto the marble floor,
breaking the cup instantly. The butler came in to see what happened. He saw the
mess, and glared at Dan. Dan tried to reason with him. " Uhhh... I didn't
see it there?"
" The hell you didn't", came the snooty butler's reply. Then he
called out for Ken. " Sir! One of your guests have destroyed one of the
cups!" Ohhhh, great, Dan thought. Ken came down the long corridor which
lead to him and Eliza's bedroom. He was in his boxers and holding a can of
whipped cream. " THIS had BETTER be good..." He looked down to the
floor. " DAN! you broke ANOTHER of the cups? THAT'S the fifth one this
week!"
" I didn't mean to do that, Ken. It was-"
" An accident, I know. Man, you are to hazardous to my home. Go chill
at your own for a while." Dan looked down at the floor, crestfallen.
" Alright, see ya'", he said, walking through the enormous mansion
towards the door. Ken sighed. he didn't want to be so rough on Dan, but Dan was
being to rough on his wallet. He would have to buy a new set of cups, because
in actuality, Dan had broke about twelve. He just lost count. ken turned to his
butler. " Jeffrey, can you clean this up, please? Me and the missus are
somewhat busy now." The butler eyed the whipped cream can. "
Indeed...."
Dan got off the bus. He was glad that the bus stopped right in front of
where he was temporarily staying. " It nowhere as elegant as Ken's",
he said to no one inparticular. It wasn't. There was one bedroom, living room,
bathroom, kitchen, and a small room that possibly could be used for a bedroom
(Dan turned that room into his sparring area). He fumbled for his keys, and
tried to open the door. He noticed two girls walk by. " Hello,
ladies."
" Hello, loser." One of them said. Dan was stung. " Hey!
don't you know WHO I am?"
" Dan Hibiki, right?"
" Yeah?"
" Loser." the two girls laughed, walking off. Man, I hate snobby
girls, Dan thought to himself angrily. He finally turned the lock on his door
and got inside. He looked around, expecting somebody. " Of course",
he said " nobody's here." Dan sat down on the couch, and turned on
his television. He flipped through the channels until he found one of his
favorite shows, ' Change of Heart'. Hm, this usually comes on at two o'clock,
he thought. He watched it in silence. He began to think about someone who he
wished would have a change of heart about him. " Arrgh! WHY does Chun-Li
even care about Ryu?" he said to himself getting angry. " He'll never
really care about her the way she wants him to. All he REALLY cares about is
the fight." Dan tried to hook up with Chun-Li once, and it failed,
primarily because of three things: He's not Ryu, he isn't Ryu, and he never
will be Ryu. But in Chun-Li's mind, it was because she really didn't like him
that way, only as a friend. " Only as a friend, only as a friend....."
Her words echoed in his head. " I couldn't be with you, Dan. You're a very
handsome, nice person..." I'm a man, not some damn person he thought
bitterly.
"... but I can't see myself in a serious relationship with you."
" Why?"
" I can't explain it..." Oh I COULD, Dan thought miserably. Cause
you're in love with that idiot Ryu, who's probably aware of it but STILL acts
like he isn't! Dan was steaming angry now. He got up and walked into his
training room. He put on his gloves, and began pounding on the training bag
mercilessly. " I wish I could make Chun-Li pay for rejecting me", he
said inbetween punches. " I'd make Guy pay for all those insulting
remarks, too." WHAM! WHAM! dan punched the bag hard enough to burst it,
but it didn't. dan didn't know where all these evil thoughts were coming from,
but he continued. " AND I'd kill Ryu for stealing the only girl I've ever
loved since I layed eyes on her!" WAP! WHAM-POW! " You'll get your
chance..." Huh? Dan stopped punching. He whirled around, expecting
somebody to attack him, but nobody was in the house. " Who said
that?" Dan asked out loud, walking out the training room. " It
dosen't matter who said it, what matters is what you just said, and that with
my help, I can help you achieve what you want to do to your adversaries..."
" B-but... who are you?....."
