Ryu had made it back to the tournament after defeating Sagat,there Ken and Chun-Li were waiting for him.
 

"Alright Ryu!"said Ken slapping his palm. "Ya got him---I couldn't have done it better myself!"
"Yes,that was marvelous,you defeated Sagat once more."said Li. "We're all one step closer to completing this crazed contest."

"Yes,I know."said Ryu. "But....you see,when I fought Sagat,he wasn't really himself.
When I defeated him,he claimed he was under some strange mind control,and his body was larger than it's usual self."

"Well..now that you mention it,Sagat seem a little more monstrous when he fought you."said Li.
"With that bulging pile of scars,who can tell the difference?"said Ken. "But I guess Sagat must've gotten in too deep when he allied himself with these Shadaloo creeps."

"Yes."said Ryu. "He also says that he was sorry for the anguish he caused you Ken,he wasn't himself and was used against his will."
"I..suppose I could let that one slide."said Ken. "But if I ever fight him again,i'll give him twice the scar he's got."
Li chuckeld. "You're a good sport."she said.

"So...the real question is,what happens now?"said Ryu.

Mr.Cho,the tourney announcer stepped forward.
"I can tell you."he said. "You've eliminated about all the competition,save for one..the tournament host and final challenger..M.Bison!"

"So he is to be the one we'll face."said Li.
"I'm afriad that's where the ultimate finals come in."said Cho.
"Ultimate finals?"said Ken. "Man,does this ever end?"

"It soon will,I promise you that."said Cho. "Bison is said to be the final challenger,but--only of you must face him alone.
And that means---you must each face each other one--on one."

Ryu and the others looked at each other.

"Well,i'll be."said Ryu.
"Now,if you're all ready."said Cho. "This way."

The trio follwed the suited oriental man to the bleechers stadium and where the final fighting ring was.

There were five sets of bleechers and stands containing many folks and individuals from all around the world watching the finals to unfold.

In the center was a large and circular ring made up of plastic white tiles and long red ropes were placed around it as well.

"Pretty fancy set-up for a final match."said Ken.
"This is where the ultimate finals shall take place."said Cho. "It will not only take place for all of Thailand,but for all the world to see.

All you need to is fight,until only one remains,and that one shall become the world warrior champion. If you're good enough,than come prove it in the finals. Now,who will be first?"

Li stepped forward.
"I'll be first."she said. "And my first opponent is----Ryu!"

Ryu and Ken gasped in reaction.
"Wh-what...Li,are you serious?"said Ryu.
"More than enough."said Li. "Now come on,time is wasting."

"Well now..."said Ken. "That was pretty unexpecting."
"I guess Li wants to get ahead so soon."said Ryu. "But more imprtantly...to see how our own training went from the last few months."

"Only one way to find out."said Ken. "Good luck,Ryu."
"Thanks."said Ryu as he joined Li at the ring.

Cho then stepped up into the ring and announced the crowds.

"WELCOME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!"he said into his mic.
"YOU'RE IN STORE FOR SOME EXCEPTIONAL EXCITEMENT TONIGHT--HERE AT THE ULTIMATE TOURNAMENT FINALS! HERE YOU SHALL SEE OUR THREE FINALISTS FACE EACH OTHER AS WELL AS THE MYSTERIOUS FINAL CHALLENGER AS WELL.

"SO..PLEASE GIVE A HAND FOR OUR FIRST TWO FINALISTS..CHUN-LI AND RYU!"

The crowds cheered as they saw Li and Ryu enter the ring.

"Okay folks."said Cho. "Fight it out nice and neat and don't take it too far or it's disqualification time."

Cho then stepped back.
"I was hoping it didn't come to this,Li."said Ryu.
"Neither was I."said Li. "But one of us has got to take him down,and let's see how much experience we've gotten from our past bouts back at the dojo."

"Yes."said Ryu.

"BEGIN!"said Cho.

The two fighters then jumped at each other as the match began.

The two would be lovers traded off blows with each other in a series of kicks and punches.
Li swung out with a leg-sweep,but Ryu jumped up over it and then came at her with a thrust punch.

Chun-Li then caught his fist and pulled him forward,then slammed a spin kick into his back,knocking him across the floor.

Ryu then jumped back and prepared to fight again.
Li then rushed at Ryu again and did a flying kick at him.

Ryu ducked it and just once she landed on her feet,he came at her with a hurricane kick.

"WHAK,WHAK,WHAK!"'
Li was knocked off her feet,but managed to back-flip to her stance again.

The two continued their bout as the minutes went by.
 

Ryu did a roundhouse kick,but Li jumped and back-flippe away from it,then she jumped forward,flipped into the air and did a landing back kick down at Ryu.

Ryu was hit in the chest and then knocked away from the trick attack.

"Man,the last time we did this was for fun back at the dojo,and I let her win."he thought. "But just how much stronger and skilled has she become since her own training? And can I beat her?"
 

Li then did her lightning kick at Ryu,but he blocked it and then came at her with a Hadouken to the chest,knocking her backwards.

He then jumped into the air and was about to do a landing kick,but Li rocketed upward and slammed him with an upper air kick.

"UNNF!"went Ryu as he landed on his side and rolled back to his feet.
Li then fired her Kikoken but Ryu knocked it away with another Hadou.

The two then rushed at each other,then collided with their shoulders.
Ryu then grabbed Li by her shirt top and then threw her over his shoulder.

Li landed on her feet,and then came at him with a flying flip split kick.

Ryu dodged it barely,but gave Li another opportunity and did her Spinning Air kick.

The Shotokan was hit hard in the side of his head several times by her upper spin kick and was knocked down to the floor.

Once down,Li did another split kick and was about to land her boot on Ryu's head.
But Ryu managed to catch her by the foot and then shoved her backwards.

Once she was open,Ryu slammed her in the abdomen with a jump kick and then charged up another powerful Hadouken and then...

"HADOUKEN!"

Li was hit by the blast so hard,she flew up against the ring ropes and was out cold.

"Nnnnnhhh---father---must get---Bison..."she replied and then was out cold.

"RYU IS THE WINNER!"said Cho.

"He did it!"said Ken. "Now all that's left is us."

Ryu helped Li up and out of the ring and laid her down on a bench.

"Are you all right,Chun-Li?"said Ryu.
"Ooohhhh...I never realised how much punch your fireballs packed until you actually feel them."said Li. "But--it looks like you won."

"Don't feel bad Li,please."said Ryu. "One of us had to win this to get to Bison. You don't realize yourself that your letting personal feelings get in the way get in the way of what matters most Li,and vengeance is never an option a warrior can afford to have--there is no honor in it. If you were take on Bison now--he would either destory you,or if you do get him--you'd become a murderer like he probably is.

You must think through on this."

"Yes..I will."said Li. "My father taught me better than that,I must remain true to his spirit as always."
"Good."said Ryu. "Now just relax and let me handle it this time. Bison will go down for the count."

"You mean let us maybe handle it."said Ken. "You've still got me to deal with."
"Don't I know it."said Ryu. "Well...we've sparred many times over,and this may very well be the first time we ever fought in a great tournament."

"Yeah,I can just feel the excitment warming up."said Ken. "Let's do this..for our master Sheng Long!"
"Right!"said Ryu.

The two warriors entered while a certain pair of eyes watched them intently.
"So...it has at last begun."he said.
And another pair of eyes watched them as well.

"When it is all over..I shall fight and kill the one who is most powerful--and I shall kill the one named Bison!"said the evil one.
