Sensei Yuryokuna Ch. 1 - The Third Student of Gouken
By Cassie
The air was bitterly cold and rain thrashed down along with the presence of
thunder rolling across the darkened skies. The night was filled by the presence
of death. Hordes of people gathered at the temple of Heiwa to pray against the
sudden strike of the evil presence. All kneeled at the direction of the temple
wall with the sign of the Sanbanmeno - the symbol of three eyes in a triangle,
two of them sealed by crescent moons. The chanting of the people begged for
protection. At the front of the rows, two people stood, a mother and her child.
The woman held her daughter close to her; for only she knew of the twist of
tragedy that would mould the young girl's fate. The woman was dressed in white
robes and expensive jewellery and she clutched her daughter's hand tightly. The
girl was no older than four. She was dressed in a Chinese style dress, with a
hairband with expensive stones embedded in it. On her forehead was a crescent
moon. She looked afraid but she tried to support her mother. The woman looked
at the wall statue with not two eyes, but three. She then passed her daughter a
staff, on the top was a dragons head. The woman kneeled down to match her
daughter's height.
"Don't be afraid April, do not worry for my life for I will not make
it. I beg you April, as the princess of this planet, come back and protect us
when you are ready - and do your father justice for me"
"What do you mean?" the girl asked in a quivering voice, unable to
control the tears from her eyes.
"I cannot guide your life but you are strong enough to carry on without
me and to one day lead these people"
"What?"
"I love you, my sanbanmeno chikara - I know your our promised one it
was my secret, and now it's yours"
"Mother, what's going to happen?"
"goodbye, my princess". She planted a kiss on the girl's cheek.
She then stood and turned around, just as Hannah expected - A demon stood in
the temple, his presence edged the people away.
"Your time here is over, Princess!" he shouted.
"I won't go down easily, for me, my daughter and the sake of my
people" she retorted.
"Enough talk!" The demon pulled a sword from behind his back and
prepared himself. Hannah stretched her arms out and held her middle fingers
together with her thumbs. The demon charged towards the princess, he lifted his
sword and swung. The sword was kept at a short distance by a blue energy beam acting
like a barrier.
"Run April!" she shouted
"I… I" she began, unable to move.
Hannah spread open her arms changing her spell. "this ends now!"
"Exactly!"
The demon prepared for his final attack and pushed the blade into the flesh
of the princess, while her final attack was launched. While she screamed in
pain he retracted his blade until she fell lifeless to the ground.
"No!" April screamed in horror collapsing by her mother's side. The
demon smiled and lifted his blade. April felt the blood from his sword drop
onto her neck when suddenly he clutched his stomach in pain. Despite how much
she wanted to stay, something told her to run. Just as she was about to leave
she turned around - the temple was filled with blood and dead bodies. She heard
the growl of the demon and ran. Everything went blank.
"Rei!" The sound of a girl's voice echoed throughout the darkness.
"Help me please!" her voice quivered as she nearly burst into tears.
"What am I going to do without you? He's coming back for me, I know he is
- You've got to stop him, you're the only one who can… Reeeeiiiii" She
couldn't help it. She was fed up of running nowhere, this darkness had no end
to it and he was coming back soon, to kill her like he killed the rest of her
kind. She was the last of the holy race left; it was too late to salvage any
kind of pride now. Finally, the girl stopped running and curled into a ball and
started crying to herself. The crying was echoed to walls that didn't even
exist until she paused for a moment, tilting her head to one side the girl's
mind confirmed the sound she could hear - footsteps. They continued to get
louder until the girl could feel a shadow cast over her, even in the darkness.
The figure was silent, but it dragged metal across the floor, a sword. (It's all
over this is it. ((DON'T BE SUCH A FOOL!))
What?) She turned away from the figure; the tears had dried she felt that
she was loosing control - until a second entity spoke inside her. "I WON'T
GIVE UP! I WILL FIGHT YOU UNTIL THE END!" the figure smiled and finally
spoke "If that's your choice Sanbanmeno Chikara, then it's your death.
Half Human, you have little time left so make the most of it!" he laughed
to himself and disappeared. The girl stood up and started to walk away. ((YOU
ARE A FOOL TO GIVE UP SO SOON (but we've lost so much) YOU MUST NOT GIVE UP ON
THE OTHERS, ONE DAY YOU WILL BE THEIR LAST CHANCE! (Their last chance may
already be gone) NEVER THE LESS, YOU MUSTN'T GIVE UP FOR THIS IS JUST THE
BEGINNING (but I'm only 5) BUT ONE DAY YOU WON'T BE))
~ END DREAM~
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" April shouted from the top of her voice and
from trying to stay standing, desperately failed and ended up collapsed on the
floor. "What the h*ll's going on?" cried a voice outside the door.
The famous Chinese detective popped her head through "Your late for
school, but you haven't been too good lately, stay home today". "I
can't I told Sakura I'd downlo…"
"Tough" she interrupted "April your taking a day off for
once, you work too hard!"
"But Chuuun"
"No, you haven't had any sleep for weeks you are stayin' here, got
it?"
"Uhh ok"
"Thank you"
"I'm going to work now so I'll c u later" Chun Li gave a little
wave and smile before leaving the apartment and locked the door. (Great, now
Sakura's gonna be chewing me out when I get back) "Never mind, I'll just…
um.. Um.. Make some breakfast and then I'll get some work done!
~AT SCHOOL~
A confused looking Japanese girl wonders around the corridors, she's
obviously looking for something, or someone. The bell rings, which makes her
jump. She turns round and looks at the bell. With a sigh she strolls back down
the corridor the way she came obviously ending her search. The class bell rings
again and the girl makes her way to the classroom. Sitting at her desk she
looks around, the classroom is almost completely full, apart from the one desk
next to her - unlike most of the other classrooms, desk and placements were
assigned to people so they could keep belongings in them. The Japanese girl sat
at the desk and with idle curiosity looked at the padlock, which locked the
empty desk. Strangely, the padlock was not locked and the girl opened the
padlock and lifted up the top of the desk - she was surprised when she opened
the lid. The desk was crammed full of stuff, mainly photographs with familiar
people on them; actually she recognised them straight away. There were three
people on the picture two men in karate gi's (one in red and the other white)
and a young girl, no older than 10. One of the people was called Ryu; the next
must be that American guy… Ken and the other looked like her best friend -
April Lisa O'Conner.
"Sakura?! What do you think your doing?" shouted a teacher from
nowhere that caused Sakura to hit her head on the desk lid. "Sakura?"
the teacher continued. You know what April gets like when people go near her
personal stuff!" Sakura slipped a photo away and closed the desk and
finally shifted back in her place. Sakura thought hard, she heard rumours about
a third student (to the famous sensei, Gouken) but nobody thought it to be
true. Could her best friend really be the secret student? There was a lot of
evidence against it; April never showed any signs of skill or will to fight,
she was only 15 after all but then again Sakura hardly knew anything about
April but then nobody did. The Japanese girl continued to evaluate the
photograph, April was smiling, happy - it wasn't that April never smiled it was
just that she never seemed really happy. Sakura decided it was about time that
she found out some things about April for herself. It was time to discover the
truth. Where does she come from, where and who are her family, how is she
connected to Ryu and Ken, how did she meet ChunLi? They are the things that
only she knows, it's about time she let out! Sakura left the classroom with a
grin on her face. Sakura could feel it; things were going to change…
