The chopper had arrived on the SNK helipad after a short trip. There was nobody waiting for them on the roof, so the two heroes figured that they let themselves in. But they hit a snag...
        "The door's locked!" Joe said irritably. "It's never locked!"
        "Until now." Dan observed.
        Just then, a huge explosion rocked the earth. Joe & Dan got knocked to their feet. What was happening was an earthquake!
        "Oh, boy! What a fine time to have an earthquake!" Joe Higashi said.
        "Hang on! Something's coming in!" Dan said, pulling out his PDA.
        Sure enough, a video file had been sent into Dan's inbox. Dan clicked on it, & saw the new objectives: Rescue as many people as possible, find the cause of the earthquake (it seemed to be centered on the SNK building alone), & eliminate the source. Dan Hibiki repocketed the PDA & got to his feet. He pulled up Joe & ran towards the roof door. He tugged at it but it was to no avail. Joe came over & they both burst the door open.

        It was chaos. People were running & screaming all over the place, & a mass evacuation had begun. People charged down stairwells in a frenzy, knocking people down & hurting others. Dan & Joe knew that they had to save the president of SNK, so they ran to his office. Fires were all around the place, & smoke was billowing out of the windows. The two men saved many workers, then they found the double doors of the SNK president's office. These were blocked, but Dan & Joe teamed up again to bust it open. There, they saw the SNK president struggling under his desk, trying to get up. Dan & Joe pulled him up, & then they saw some large object falling towards the ground outside.
        "Was that our helicopter, Dan?" Joe asked, sweatdropping.
        "Yeah. I hope the crew got out OK." Dan said.
        Right on cue, the navy-blue clad helicopter team came out of the roof door & headed towards one of the stairwells.
        "Well, they're OK, but now we're stranded..." Joe said.
        "We can get out! Let's follow the others!" The SNK president said.

        Dan Hibiki, Joe Higashi, & the SNK president ran out of the burning SNK building with very little oxygen left in their lungs. Joe & Dan panted as they escorted the president into the folds of his secret service.
        "Well, this certainly cements our friendship, eh Mr. President?" Dan asked.
        "Yeah..." The president said, panting.
        Then another explosion rocked the earth behind them, & Dan thought that he saw a flash of blue & red behind him near the epicenter.
        "Come on Joe, I know what the source is now!" Dan said, running towards the SNK building.
        "What is it then?" Joe asked, following Dan around craters & debris.
        "A man who goes by the name of Gill..."

        Inside the SNK building, a man known as Gill was standing alone, trying to demolish the building's foundations with his Seraphic Wing attack.
        "SERAPHIC WING!!!"
        Another highly fortified support column buckled & crumbled as Gill's fierce attack drove it into dust.
        "Yes! As each of these columns go down, so does the glory of my enemy!" Gill yelled.
        "Stop it right there, twotone!" A voice said.
        "Who dares challenge me?!" Gill said, angered.
        "Why, I believe you know me! I beat you before!" The voice chirped.
        "...Alex?" Gill said, taken aback.
        "No, silly!" The voice said.
        A man stepped out from the shadows. He was wearing a white t-shirt, red & white jacket, & blue jeans. A baseball cap sat on top of his head, covering up some of his blond hair. He was wearing a pair of fingerless gloves, like Alex. He cracked them & stepped forward.
        "It's me, Terry Bogard!"

        Dan Hibiki & Joe Higashi had entered the dark, crumbling skyscraper & were heading for the basement. They came upon it & marveled at the damage caused in here. Support columns had been broken into pieces, & third-degree burn marks were covering many surfaces. Something else also caught their attention.
        "Hey, do you hear that, Joe?" Dan asked.
        "Yeah! It sounds like a couple of guys are having a fight!" Joe replied.
        "I thought so too. Come on!"
        As Dan & Joe got closer, they could hear two men shoot remarks at each other.
        "I should have eradicated you a long time ago, Terry!" A voice said.
        "Now, I know that's Gill's voice, but who's Terry?" Dan asked.
        "Terry Bogard. He's a big hitter in the King of Fighters circuit." Joe whispered.
        "Can we skip this childish name-calling & cut to the chase, twotone?" Another voice said. Dan guessed correctly that it belonged to Terry.
        "Ouch!" Dan whispered. "Terry better watch out! Gill doesn't take kindly to insults..."
        "It would be my pleasure!" Gill yelled. "SERAPHIC WING!!!"
        "Duck!" Dan whispered.
        "You don't need to tell me twice!" Joe said as he went prone.

        Dan & Joe had chosen correctly to duck, as the wall they were hiding behind was almost obliterated, & pieces of it flew away, & would have surely killed Dan & Joe had they not hit the dirt. Terry rushed in with some fierce punches & kicks, & Gill blocked & attacked Terry, who blocked these attacks as well. Then Gill launched a fierce punch into Terry's gut, causing him to buckle over.
        "Aaaaagh!" Terry yelped. Gill then picked him up by the scruff of his neck & smiled before throwing him hard into a chunk of debris, causing him to yell in pain once more.
        "Do you not see, Terry Bogard? It is impossible to defeat me in the state of power I hold now!" Gill yelled.
        Back behind the low wall of debris that had been once known as a wall, Dan & Joe were discussing a plan.
        "Boy, this Gill guy is really vain, isn't he?" Joe whispered.
        "Yeah, but unfortunately it isn't much of a weakness." Dan replied. "We need a plan to save Terry, but you do it. I'm not much for tactics & strategy." (Author's Note: I am! :D )
        "Alright. Here's what we're gonna do..."

        "Take your best shot, twotone..." Terry breathed as Gill held his neck.
        "If you say so..." Gill remarked as he pulled back his fist to make a critical pounding on Terry's face.
        Just then, Dan came up behind Gill & laid a Gadoken across his back, making him sail towards the air & drop Terry at the same time, then Joe came up & shot a flurry of fists at him as he fell, knocking him back into the air. Dan jumped behind Gill as he fell & hit him with a Dankuu Kyaku, making him fly higher, then Joe popped up & did a ferocious air combo, knocking him down to the ground. (18 hits, 20% damage) Terry got to his feet.
        "Hey Joe! What are you doing here?" Terry Bogard asked.
        "Me? I'm just mopping up, with some help from Dan Hibiki." Joe replied.
        "Alright. I'll head out before this place collapses. Good luck!"
        Terry then ran up the stairs out of the basement. Gill got up & glared at the two attackers. He was surprised to see Dan, who he had thought dead after the Metro City incedent. (It must have happened in Saikyokugenryu #10)
        "I see nobody knows when to keep their noses out of other people's business. Especially you, Dan." Gill said. "Now it is time for you to pay for your error!"
        Gill ran towards the two & laid punches on them. Dan was knocked to the ground by one of them, while Joe was knocked to the air by another. Then Gill did an old-fashioned move, picking Dan & Joe up & bashing their heads together. Dan & Joe got up & ran at Gill. Dan jumped on Gill & locked his legs around his neck, engaging in beating up his head. Joe ran into the traditional attack, laying kicks & punches at Gill. Gill pulled Dan off & threw him at Joe, causing their attack to be cut short.
        "Attack me if you dare!" Gill shouted. He then punched the ground hard with his blue fist, causing lacelike ice to rise up slowly from the point of contact & envelop him in a shield of ice. Dan & Joe thought of this as a good time to plan their next move.
        "Now that Gill has stopped attacking us, I think we should plan an attack." Dan said, rubbing the spot where his head hit the floor due to Gill's knockback punch.
        "Yeah. I think we should break the ice with a huge piece of debris & then run into a charging attack. You can hit him with a Hisshou Burriken on one side & I'll improvise." Joe replied. Dan didn't really like the sound of 'improvise' but he decided that it would be alright.

        Dan & Joe both carried a huge rock they had found in the destroyed basement, & hurled it at the ice shield. It smashed through, hitting Gill hard, & then Dan dashed towards him. Dan unleashed a frenzied series of punches & kicks, & Joe ran up Gill's body & leaped, then Dan finished up his Hisshou Burriken with a Korryuken that sent Gill into the air. Joe attacked with a fierce combo attack that ended with an overhead pound attack that sent Gill towards the floor, but Dan went into a Korryuken, popping Gill back up for Joe to attack. Joe did the combo again, sending Gill down with the overhead attack again, & Dan sent Gill towards a big pile of rocks with a Dankuu Kyaku. (31 hits, 41% damage) Gill hit the debris with a sickening smack, & Dan & Joe waited for him to get back up. He didn't.

        "Wow. We finally beat him." Dan said.
        "Yeah, but you know your boss will send us on another mission, right?" Joe replied.
        "Yeah, that's a given..." Dan chuckled.
        On cue, the PDA beeped, signifying a new message. Dan flipped it open & read the message.
        "An exemplary job on saving the SNK building, guys. You saved the president & defeated Gill. I knew we should have kept a closer watch on him, but defeating him has increased your reputation amongst your friends considerably. I have also been notified by someone that a mutant was saved by your actions. Someone would like to thank you in New York City. Come to my office tonight & we'll celebrate. I'll have a jet booked for you tomorrow. Keep up the good work! ~President of Capcom"

        "Well, looks like we've got the good life ahead of us, Dan..." Joe sighed.
        "You said it! I can't wait for the party!" Dan said.
        "What makes you think there's goiing to be a party?"
        "Because I am going to be there!"
        Joe rolled his eyes & the two victorious fighters walked up the stairs. They headed outside of the SNK building to cheers & applause. A limo was pulled up to the front, & Dan & Joe stepped in. The limo drove towards the Capcom building, leaving cheering citizens in their wake.
